If I purchase a BDP set today, would I get double VIP points or would it be based
on the promo when it ships?
BDP does not get VIP point i think
I got them for the last BDP set I purchased.
Orders earn VIP Points but do not qualify toward LEGO Shop Gift with Purchase
sets.
so i guess you will get the double points but i'm not sure
As it is a long time until they charge and dispatch, I imagine it will be whatever
offer is in place (probably none) when the card is actually charged next year.

Speaking of which, wasn't Series 2 supposed to ship in October? I'm
seeing November now.

I can unequivocally state Lego.com acting for the Lego Group does give VIP points
on BDP purchases.
I can also tell you the person who thought he read that and was not sure.......you
definitely read that it was in finer print on Lego.com on previous series.
To the person who asked about double points.....I tried that myself, double points
will only be reflected on BDP purchases if final payment is made when the sets
are ready to be shipped and not when they are ordered.
What happens when you are directed to Lego.com from BL is you finalize and pay
for your order. It then shows the points you will acquire. Then a couple of weeks
later Lego.com refunds your money. This is why the points don't get reflected
onto your VIP account immediately.
5-6 months later Lego takes the payment back, they also issue you points at exactly
the same time, although they can take 2-3 days to show up on your VIP balance.

Pending points. Will they actually be added at the double rate though in six
months time, that is the question.
They will only be added that way (double) if at the time Lego.com seeks payment
for sets to be delivered immently. Its based on when the final payment occurs
and nothing else.
So if the is a "double points" period during the payment period then
yes you get double points. If there is no such promotion when payment is made
you get the standard amount of VIP points.

well the BDP (whatever series) are not back order items, opposed to what a regular
Lego Group set is. Yes its all the Lego group :now", but its called the "bricklink"
designer program for a reason if you see my drift.
In the BDP instance its based on reasonable and fair knowledge of what will occur
in 5-6 months on that payment day and availability.
Opposed to what should always be available and is not available due to "back
order".

You would be in possession of a very good example there. Kindly watch your payments
and points and report the same to the group.
That is your order page, not your payment page. VIP are credited after payment
and generally a few days after payment. Final payment is not reflected by lego.com
until the sets are ready for shipping,
