Why do have the Road Signs Road different numbers? I just had a few in my hands
and cannot see any difference - only the print. So why do 7284, 80039, 80045
exist - could they not get numbers like 14pb**?

I believe what he's asking is why don't they have a similar naming convention
like 14bp01, 14bp02, 14bp03... This may be simplified, but the idea is there.

Turns out that the few signs that have the other numbers not starting with "14"
are numbered according to their internal LEGO design numbers for the elements
when they were produced for
BrickLink does not use those numbers since we use the base part numbers to number
decorated parts in the database. Therefore, I have gone ahead and renumbered
the few that required it.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It is always nice to be able to
find all of the decorated versions of a part with one search.
This part has the same 14-Number as the other road signs. But this part is a
different mold: The round part is bigger than the other 14s.
