Hello there!
Just under a week ago I opened up my Bricklink store, I currently have 15k parts
in 1k lots and a 20% sale.
I would very much appreciate a visit, some pointers on what could be improved,
or even a purchase.
As you might have guessed from the name, I will focus on Star Wars Lego, but
I might change that with time depending on how bad or well this goes.

welcome to bricklink!
just a heads up the black text in a yellow box on a black background is very
difficult to read.
also you may want to change this
"If a package arrives damaged, make sure to document it, take a video unboxing
it, if anything is damaged contact me asap and we can resolve it! If you wait
or don't have proof, there's not much I can do.
I am not responsible for packages stolen."
as sellers are fully responsible for packages until they are marked as delivered
regardless of tracking/insurance and in general you always have to take the buyers
word on the contents without them first videoing them opening the package.
also I'm a little confused as you have
"Shipping prices have about 0.2-0.5$ depending on the size added to the shipping
price for package materials." and then "These are not the final shipping
price at checkout! a small amount will be added for package materials."
which is confusing as its unclear if your packing costs are worked into your
shipping costs or charged as an additional fee. however since you ship to the
USA California has laws against extra fees
so you have to work it into your base shipping price you advertise. for example
shipping costs you $2 and packing is .50. you advertise and charge the buyer
$2.50 as the only cost ontop of the bricks on the order.
best of luck!

I was gonna respond, properly, but looking at what you wrote, most of it doesn't
make any sense, you should work on your writing.

what do you mean in specific? I'm confused
The shipping section, you mentioned hidden shipping costs, I don't see that
at all.
The black text on yellow I totally get, so I went ahead and changed it, thank
you for pointing that out.
I understand I should be viable for a package, but I know there's a real
problem with postal theft in USA especially, and I can't afford to give away
free stuff. I would however make exceptions for certain cases, or if there is
proof.

As mentioned I said I was confused on how you had it setup. also as for the "hidden

haver been similar laws passed elsewhere

I will trust you for now and remove the package disclaimer, which might change

stolen or ''broken'' goods, my current margins are incredibly
low.

dont worry as its very rare for things to get damaged/lost in shipping so you
should be good . at most id say maybe 1/250 but in reality its probably much
rarer then that. just a heads up tho even if you read the disclaimer it in no
way prevents buyers from filing claims against you via their bank/paypal as their
rules override anything in store terms

unfortunately most countries have laws and Paypal and banks have rules that makes
sellers rerpsoisbible for packages. it isn't an opinion it modern consumer
protection laws. id strongly suggest reading up the Paypal tos and such. for
example
(long link)
is 1 of many examples. even if you say you dont do it. any buyer can open a claim
with their bank/paypal and they will side with the buyer near 100% of the time
if tracking isn't shown as delivered. luckily that is an extremely rare thing
for packages to go missing

Insure packages over 100 dollars, most buyers won’t give you problems.
If a buyer starts a issue over something, it’s better to just refund them, than
to get something like a negative FB or a NSS.

I've sent over 1,000 packages in the USA and only two have gotten lost. And
they were small so unlikely that they were stolen.

Easy: do NOT sell to US buyers when afraid for the above....

shipping costs you $2 and packing is .50. you advertise and charge the buyer
$2.50 as the only cost on top of the bricks on the order.
best of luck!
I was gonna respond, properly, but looking at what you wrote, most of it doesn't
make any sense, you should work on your writing.
I told him the same thing about writing
But unfortunately he's right about your responsabilities and in general hidden

Hello there!
Just under a week ago I opened up my Bricklink store, I currently have 15k parts
in 1k lots and a 20% sale.
I would very much appreciate a visit, some pointers on what could be improved,
or even a purchase.
As you might have guessed from the name, I will focus on Star Wars Lego, but
I might change that with time depending on how bad or well this goes.
Thank you for your time!
welcome to bricklink!
just a heads up the black text in a yellow box on a black background is very
difficult to read.
also you may want to change this
"If a package arrives damaged, make sure to document it, take a video unboxing
it, if anything is damaged contact me asap and we can resolve it! If you wait
or don't have proof, there's not much I can do.

I totally get it's illegal to have hidden costs, I just didn't understand
where they got it from.
But I have cleaned up the disclaimers from the pointers they gave me to make
it more forward.

it was just a question based on the confusing terms that didn't make it clear
if your packing costs were worked into your advertised shipping price (allowed
or as the law says "not hidden" ) or charged separately from the advertised
shipping cost (not allowed or as the law says "hidden" )
hope that helps clarify the confusion up a little

Looks good! Especially your store landing page and minifig listing custom pics.
Placing them on your store's Featured page too, nicely done.
It seems you're off to a good start in becoming a Jedi BL vendor, my fine
Padawan Look forward to watching your store blossom here.

"Where did I buy? At Starbrick.'s brickshop of StarBricks BrickShop"
Where is the name-checking control mechanisme on this site.....?
I was about to suggest something similar, removing the full stop from the username
and storename. Then realised they were using the full stop as it conflicts with
your store.

+1, but a full stop mark is not read, not said out loud, so there's only
a difference in the writing, not the reading or speaking.
We'll see. Nothing to be done about it I guess....

Yes, and frequently not even seen or remembered which is why it is better to
avoid using them. And that is aside from copying another name.

Well, technically, you could sue for trademark infringement.
(Even if) “StarBrick” isn’t registered, it’s a brand that you used for years
and that’s recognized on BrickLink. (Registration is the difference between
™ and ®.)
But trying to sort it out amicably together would be less expensive and risky

I can guarantee there's someone else who had a similar name as you before
you created your as well.
Also, read, StarBricks. And StarBrick's BrickShop Doesn't even sound
or look alike...

Hint, why not something different like "Bricks from the Stars" or "Bricks
from Stars"?
Or such - because so close to SW could be an IP problem and is already very common.
Like 24 having StarBrick in the name...

Or, why not have a shop-naming contest on the forum and offer the winner a credit
in your shop? I bet the people on this forum could come up with an awesome name
for you that doesn’t already belong to a large, well-established store. You don’t
want to live under the shadow of another shop, you want to be unique!

I just want to wish you good luck for your new store!
I just opened my store in the middle of July this year
- Piece OUT! if you want to check it -
and I have to admit that it has kept me busier than I thought it would.
I think that StarBricks is quite a good name, it reminds me of a certain mainstream
coffee brewer, and I likes me some coffee I don't think your name limits
you to selling Star Wars, although that IS my favourite Lego theme too.
I'll definitely give you a visit and again good luck for your future!

Why not come up with a more original name, as it will always be copied even if
unintentionally.
After picking a store name in 2014 there are a total of 30 stores that copied
part of our store name, so I had to drop that part of the name so not to cause
confuse for our customer base.
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other word would smell
as sweet.
Don’t think BL store names are as impactful as some may imagine. Just my experience
and perhaps that of Shakespeare Unless it's a concern of a good name being
conflated with another less so...
