I have a collection of Harry potter lego sets, im a set collector and don't
need or want to keep the boxes they come in. I feel like throwing them away
is wasteful as I'm sure there may be some people who do collect or want the
boxes they come in. Is there a market or category for opened set boxes? If so,
what could a decent price be without being overpriced? As stated before I don't
mind getting rid of them. Just looking to potentially help someone finish their
collection or a seller give a more complete set.

How much storage space do you have, and how long are you willing to dedicate
that space while waiting for a buyer to appear ?

Storage space is not a problem, the time frame of selling or keeping is a new
and good prospective I didn't consider, if open set boxes are a small or
very niche collection category I'll put a time frame on when to get rid of
them. Thank you for the prospective.

There is but in general they are worth very little and sit for a very long time
and can be expensive to ship. To see the going rate for them you can look up
the set and click on the original box thing on the top right to see what its
currently selling for

Yes. But... It's hit and miss. you can type the set number in the search
field and find the "original box" entry.

I've sold a few and I've bought a few to repackage old sets, but it barely
increased the value enough to make it worthwhile. Now-a-days I list them for
a month or so and if they don't sell I save them to cut up for packaging.
Like with bubble mailers I'll sandwich the parts inside the cardboard to
help smooth over any edges so the mailer can't get snagged on anything and
tear it open.

If they are small sets, then no. Flatten them and stick them in the attic. They
will help if you ever come to sell the sets.
