Why is it that when a part hits the floor it disappears? It is amazing how many
pieces I have lost when a part hits the floor. Is there any science behind this?
Could I be the only one?

I drop a

Part No: 3001  Name: Brick 2 x 4
*
3001 Brick 2 x 4
Parts: Brick {Green}
on the floor it slides under the table between two stacks
of shoeboxes and becomes invisible without the use of a flashlight.

Then I drop a

Part No: 98138  Name: Tile, Round 1 x 1
*
98138 Tile, Round 1 x 1
Parts: Tile, Round {Green}
it lands on its edge and stays right where it landed,
easy to pick up.

I don't know why.

I think we all know the frustration

  Is there any science behind this?

Theory of Chaos and Probability

Your question is more intriguing to me than the predictability of the dropped
LEGO coming to rest. It goes to our nature. Which I believe is the among the
last things we'll come to fully understand, ourselves

Try waiting a few days, then dropping another piece. You might find the old one
while searching for that. The trick is to stop dropping things once you've
lost the cheapest possible piece... ;D

Are the dropped pieces even hitting the floor? I swore that they burnt up upon
re-entry into the atmosphere.😏

Lego are like socks in the washing machine,
they just disappear
