in one sense or another, gathered us, the BL catalog, continues to demonstrate
how it also helps in the forming of community.

Plenty of strongly held opinions with pushing n’ pulling of thoughtful and often
times impressive arguments. Consider that this would not take place if those
‘gathered’ were indifferent to one another... As I see it, plainly emblematic
of a healthy sense of community.

Enough introspective sappiness on my part Let’s have some fun!

The prize is a fairly rare LEGO Star Wars item

Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
with his chrome-silver hilted weapon

The contest: Guess the first LEGO set I ever purchased?

Clues: The purchase was for my son’s (unspecified) birthday in Sweden. He is
currently less than 30 years of age.

Thanks! Getting that set would've indeed made me a "cool dad". But
that cool, I'm not.

That is a nice set. But not the one I bought for him as his first LEGO.

I've always appreciated the first release years of LEGO Star Wars, but no.

I know y’all are really into Star Wars lol.

One salient bit of information, look further

Let go your preconceptions, you'll see further and clearer. You've already
proffered one vision

I appreciate these contests, popsicle!! Thank you!! 😊

You're welcome, I think

Clues: The purchase was for my son’s (unspecified) birthday in Sweden. He is
currently less than 30 years of age.

Oh that's tough...

I don't think it can be the:

10294-1 (Inv) Titanic
9090 Parts, 2021
Sets: Sculptures

Plenty of strongly held opinions with pushing n’ pulling of thoughtful and often
times impressive arguments. Consider that this would not take place if those
‘gathered’ were indifferent to one another... As I see it, plainly emblematic
of a healthy sense of community.

It’s the free exchange of ideas and thoughts that helps us to grow and improve

Always like it and thought it inexplicably under appreciated throughout it's
years within the after market. Nevertheless, not the set I got my son.

I think that depends on which age you start. No point in waiting until a child
is 3 years old, but you also don't want them eating all the smallest parts.

A small success achieved!

Looking beyond the metric that is the possible "eating" of that which
I child engages in, it's the simplicity of DUPLO that would not have
held his attention for very long.

Never factored the devouring of his toys. Might have had he done so with other
things? I don't know, I've heard it's a concern.

Nice very tiny set from LEGO's first run at Star Wars. Always liked it myself.

But consider that I was abroad, absent from my son and daughter for extended
periods of their earliest upbringing in Sweden. So any occasion such as birthdays,
would be extra special for their dad and by extension, the gift would be too

Plenty of strongly held opinions with pushing n’ pulling of thoughtful and often

You said it’s a bigger set, but not massive. You alluded to it being a Star Wars
set, and that your son is younger than 30. I’m assuming this was for birthdays
6-10. Assuming he’s late 20’s now, that would mean this would be 2000’s, but
not the very first Lego Star Wars sets. It’s starting to dwindle down the sets!!
😊 thanks!

Good deductive reasoning! Missed the target, but nice effort. Keep using that
rule of inference, you'll significantly increase your odds.

Btw, we parted the 4504 (Original Trilogy Edition) sets in bulk, back in the
day. Funny the moments we selectively remember over so many other very similar
events: Got them from Target stores @ 50% off around the holidays in SoCal

Strong memory of them being $100 (99.98) sets, we got for $50

Well, obviously it was the legendary 10123, Cloud City. However, your son lost
the Boba Fett from it at some point. Years later, when it became insanely valuable,
you could never quite bring yourself to forgive him for that. For a decade and
a half, it's been lying under a bush somewhere in Sweden, waiting to be discovered
again by an unwitting cocker spaniel.

In Contests, popsicle writes:
The lengthy and sometimes lively debates over the recent catalog procedural change,
illustrates to me dedication to and strength of, community. As though that which
in one sense or another, gathered us, the BL catalog, continues to demonstrate
how it also helps in the forming of community.

Plenty of strongly held opinions with pushing n’ pulling of thoughtful and often
times impressive arguments. Consider that this would not take place if those
‘gathered’ were indifferent to one another... As I see it, plainly emblematic
of a healthy sense of community.

It’s the free exchange of ideas and thoughts that helps us to grow and improve
individually, but also collectively.

As posted, the cost of this contest is dedicated to those that have taken the
time to encourage and express their appreciation:

Enough introspective sappiness on my part Let’s have some fun!

The prize is a fairly rare LEGO Star Wars item

Gear No: 9002939 Name: Watch Set, SW Obi-Wan Kenobi (Short Cape)
*
9002939 Watch Set, SW Obi-Wan Kenobi (Short Cape)
Gear: Watch: Star Wars
New/Sealed, that contains

Minifig No: sw0388 Name: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old) - Short Cape (Watch 9002939)
*
sw0388 (Inv) Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old) - Short Cape (Watch 9002939)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
with his chrome-silver hilted weapon

The contest: Guess the first LEGO set I ever purchased?

Clues: The purchase was for my son’s (unspecified) birthday in Sweden. He is
currently less than 30 years of age.

Contest Rules:

- One entry per 24 hour period, posted here without limit to number of entries.
- If two entries are identical, the first wins.
- For transparency all entries must be posted here as reply
- All our fellow BL members worldwide are welcome to participate, though we'll
cover domestic shipping only should you win.
- Otherwise, no further restrictions
