Hey folks!
I have only ever placed like 5 orders on Bricklink in the past. So far, only
good interactions and everything always nice & friendly.

But today, Bricklink auto selected a bunch of pieces to 3 carts that I just placed
one after the other and when I reached the last of 3, I noticed something that
luckily caught my attention:

An order worth 35€ of Lego was given another 35€ of S&H on top...
A 100% increase of cost for no apparent reason (in comparision to the other orders
I have ever placed).

Now, I though I did something wrong, so there would be something I could do to
get this lower, like increase the lot values, or such.

So - I "dared" to simply ask the seller...

Their reaction within minutes... was not an answer but an immediate stop listing
without ever interacting with me.

Is such a behaviour to be expected here when contacting sellers?

Thanks for your feedback!

It is not normal but it happens. Some sellers have a take it or leave it attitude.
My stop listings have come because of the forums. That's ok someone else
is happy to take your and my money, you just have to find them.

I don't think it's normal or expected but sadly, it isn't as rare
as it should be.

This is really really sad.

My biggest issue is now: how can I get the exact items from that cart back into
a wanted list to shop elsewhere?

By stop listing me without interacting with me this is like a kick in the ass
and giving me nothing but headaches now

This is frustrating...

It depends what you asked and, just as importantly, how you asked it.

I just asked why there is a S&H of the same amount - making it a 100% extra fee..
and what I can do to minimize it.

The shop states shipping starts at 7.95€ but then mysteriously says they might
add "something" for time consuming orders.

As I never had any add on fee as high as this (35€!) I simply wanted to understand
the algorithm and if needed increase the amount of pieces for certain lots.

This is so irritating and frustrating for me now.

I am shocked.

If it was an order of one of this and one of that, one of this and one of that,
... a high number of lots with one or two pieces in each lot, then handling fees
can be high.

If you want to understand how you can minimize it by varying the order then you
can do this yourself, by varying the number of lots in the cart, and the number
of items in each lot, and looking at what happens to the postage and handling
costs. Asking sellers to explain it is not likely to get a response since it
will likely be a waste of time for the seller to reply if you are outraged at
the price.

Thanks for your feedback!

There are some sellers who don't want to deal with buyers who don't read
or understand their terms. A buyer who raises questions is more likely to be
'picky' and cause them problems later on.

It's bad business but also understandable. Buyers leave unfair feedback from
time to time and sellers have little defense and have to wear that badge forever.

Count yourself lucky to have avoided a store with less-than-stellar customer
service and move on to the next one!

Good luck,
~Jen

Thanks Jen!
Do you have a pro-tip for me on how to convert this cart into a wish list so
I can even find new stores?

My original 3 WLs were spread to different carts and I have already paid the
other 2...

If you go to the cart is there not an "Add to Wanted List" button at
the bottom?

There is. But it is grayed out just like everything else because of the stop-listing.
This is such a bad bug.

Have you selected all the parts using the checkbox at the top left of the list?
That option will be greyed if there are no parts selected.

Oh man. Thanks.

Bricklink's UI really comes from hell... Not used to such 90ies stuff anymore...

Problem is now that while that seller stop listed me, I was busy altering the
cart and increasing all the quantities.

Now I do not have the original splitted cart anymore that was created original.

I'm assuming you had a wanted list for the original 3 carts correct?

I would remove the parts you bought from the other 2 stores and then use that
same wanted list to purchase what remains.

It was way more complex. I had three wanted lists combined with already partially
completed items.

It's a nightmare to do this task in reverse manually.

I really hate that seller now. And I cannot even rate him!

Go to the order that got stop-listed and scroll down. There is a button 'Add
order items to my wanted list'. create a new wanted list to be sure.

That does not work.

A) I do not have an order, just a cart and there every possible action is grayed
out.
B) while that rude seller stop-listed me, I was actually quite busy editing the
quantities in his cart, increasing every single lot's quantity in order to
get a better handling/piece ratio - so I do not have the original quantities
any more.

..this is of course making me hate this stupid seller even more.

Bricklink is missing ONE important feature:
After it created MANY carts to optimize the overall shopping experience, you
have to manually one by one buy each cart.
If ANYTHING happens along the way like this, you are screwed.

Bricklink should offer ONE single payment and trigger all carts at once or none
at all.

Go to this page and check if the buttons to add to a wanted list work for that
cart:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/globalcart.page

You can use the software Brickstore to Import your original wanted list and also
import the 2 orders placed, then merge the files multiplying the orders by -1
to get the remaining parts needed.

There is no such button.

If you open the cart, can you click the select all checkbox at the top. That
should open the option to create a new wanted list at the bottom for it all.

There are some shady people on here. Always check feedback. Try to remember
to check terms. And be ready to be stop-listed for asking polite and reasonable
questions--it happens 🤷‍♂️

The only thing that can be done in the meantime is putting the store(s) that

I guess now that I cannot use that shop anymore it should never get selected

I don’t think the algorithm looks at that.

Besides, putting them on your least-favourite list sends them a (tiny) message:
they won’t know you did (well, they can guess), but if they care to look at the
number of people who least-favourite them they may change their behaviour (though
I doubt it).

An order worth 35€ of Lego was given another 35€ of S&H on top...
A 100% increase of cost for no apparent reason (in comparision to the other orders
I have ever placed).

A German shop with Time in the name if I remember correctly?
It's a shame.

And whoever it is they shouldn't react like this to a buyer's question.

Just pick another shop, forget this one, they've just lose (another) buyer.

A German shop with Time in the name if I remember correctly?
It's a shame.

100 points. That's the one.
They are really a shame. They could have just ignored my question if they think
it's stupid.
Now I only got a lot of work and frustration. It should be possible to file a
complaint to Bricklink for such rude behavior.

You can, and you should, sincerely.

It's probably not enough to change anything, but if they receive enough complaints
they may move... Much more, it can be seen as fee avoidance also, which isn't
BrickLink's cup of tea

Here, type the name once and chose maybe "Other reason" and explain a
bit.
