I've used Auto Select to choose stores for a large (2000 pieces) purchase.
Some of the stores that were selected have a very low total price. The shipping
cost for these stores will be two or three times the item prices. Is there a
way to restrict store choices so that each store selection has to have at least,
say, a total of $10 worth of parts?

Thanks for your help!

Peter

Hi,

There’s no option for that.

What you can do is look at what parts these stores are selected for, then look
in the other selected stores if they have these parts.
If not (or if too expensive), separate those parts (either by making a separate
WL or by using the Wanted Items tab on the left of the Buy page) and start another
Auto-select on them only.  The algo may find other stores… or not.
You can also (temporarily) least-favourite some of these stores and see if that
changes the selection.
Changing some other option (exclude/include lots below Wanted Qty, exclude/include
stores when item price is lower than store min buy…) may also nudge the algo
to another solution.
Also try expanding the search (country / region…).

But, in the end, if the parts are rare and only found in stores that don’t have
many other parts from your WL, there’s no real alternative. You either buy or
wait.

Thanks for your quick reply and your suggestions! I set the three small stores
to least-favorite and re-ran the auto select. The new results didn't have
any small stores, but the total price was almost $60 more than the original .
I guess paying the extra postage isn't so bad after all

Those small stores might have parts you need hat others don't. You could
increase the parts count and hence the price in those stores by shifting parts
from another store that has a higher score. But that might increase the postage
price in the small store while not changing the postage price in the bigger store.

Ideally, you would check the price of every part in all the suggested stores
and select the bests stores for each part manually. That can be very time consuming
though. Often a better thing to do is locate the store the most expensive items
at the cheapest price, check there are no "damaged" comments and use
the wants list in that store manually, just checking that they are not price
gouging on the common cheaper parts. Then do it for the next most expensive part
not accounted for and so on. It takes a bit of work but you can often get better
prices than relying on auto select.
