| So, recently I was doing my own room in Autodesk Maya 2024 for my 3D Modelling
prelims for college and I thought of adding a LEGO car for my room... only for
my teacher to say that every item MUST be made by us and not exported.
But that's not the topic I'm discussing. I'm talking about how would
I export a Studio file to Autodesk Maya 2024. Cuz when I exported it as a .dae
file (Collada file,) every part were separated parts. I used the combine tool,
but it will take ages to combine to the point where my CPU reaches 105°C! So
how would I export it as one object?

Hi,
You can’t directly do that in Studio.
You can do it with the help of PartDesigner (https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/partdesigner.page
):
1. in Studio, export your model to LDraw,
2. in PartDesigner, import the .ldr as a 3D model,
3. export the whole thing as one part to Studio (button in the top right corner),
4. use that custom part in a model in Studio,
5. export to Collada.
There will be only one object. But it’ll be a simple merge: hidden triangles
will still be there / there’ll be as many triangles as when you exported the
model / there’s no simplification.
As a closing note, know that the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner
is https://forum.bricklink.com/ (hover over the red Studio icon on every page,
then click “Studio Forum”).
Please search the forum for your question before posting a new one (the search
box is in the very dark grey banner).
There’s indexes of known bugs and suggestions that you can browse first:
