The count is skewed: Randyf and Axaday (to cite only two) are mainly posting
in the Catalog section and many of their posts are kept indefinitely.
Also, the Studio forum isn’t accounted for!
(Not even mentioning the quality of the messages’ contents… oops, I just did
)

Does that mean 4 out of every 100 posts are about Pizza?
I'll bet if Nubs pushed himself, it could be 5 out of 100.

Especially when a pot of Maille Dijon Original would last 5 to 60 times longer
than any Pizza - and for a part of the price.
Pizza's for the Consumers, Moutarde for the Gourmets.

Nubs' use of the laughing emoji in lieu of words that might convey
his thoughts, are not "smiles" Which if they were, could at least be
expressed while still offering some thought. In fact, that particular emoji so
incessantly used, comes across more as manic grinning than a laugh to me.
But I just take it as another something I need to work out about myself, along
with SylvainLS' heavy use of the tongue emoji, while I'm at it

Tell me who's this people and I'll ask Russell to ban them.
Seriously, I agree it (often?) happens but in general when the correct reply
has already been given. So what?
And in general, do we really wish a Luna Forum - like gray and dead? I'm
not sure, personnaly.
Of course, sometimes I dream to force Nubs to eat his own emojis (with his monitor).
And I guess others for some of my posts. The only way I've found was to not
post at all. Sorry.

Everyone's posting behavior is a little different. Nubs posts a lot, but
his posts tend to be brief. Many are just a single (or two, or three, or
six…). He doesn't write those long-winded posts like Foster used to. He also
doesn't post every day, so he's not a total forum resident.
randyf and axaday are also in the top ten, but they post a lot of catalog-related
stuff, which never gets purged. So, if you filter to just the last 36 months
(the purge cutoff), their position in the top ten drops.
My stats are more modest than Nub's, but I spend a lot of time reading the
forum, not just posting. So, I may very well spend even more time in the forum
than he does.

#1 slot goes to Nubs
8990 post in 36 months
Nubs average: 1 post every 3 hours for 36 months straight
10 members encompass 22.8% of the conversations
|
It is very easy to become part of the top 10..
Just joining in a few discussions every day, that is very normal behavior.
|
the difference between the #1 slot & the #10 slot is a 3x multiple, that is out
of 15,700+ members. 10 members = 22.8% of the posts
i think the keyword in your response is "everyday", & you just reinforced
the notion of members being 'Forum Residents'...
so .. thanks
|

If I read every message and you read every message then it comes down to who
misreads the most often I read them several times so I may still be in the
lead

I think that it mainly means that the forum is not very active.
You can spend a few minutes a day here and be in that list. Doesn't need
to be every day either.

I’ve used that term “Forum Resident” for years now. It’s fitting.
I’d be what you might call homeless in the online sense of the term, if it
weren’t for my residence here. I’ve zero presence on social media platforms of
any kind, other forums or any social activity sites or apps. For me, it’s here
that I’ve allowed myself this activity. Always has been and just might always
be, as I still prefer face-to-face socializing.
I came to the BL forum many years ago for the auctions and although I’ve taken
year long hiatuses, I never really left. I’ve only 10 mins logged on BL’s chat
at the time too, it wasn’t for me either.
So while the topic has been broached: Thank you BL for giving me a home online,
and thank you to my fellow forum participates for keeping me company. I often
find this thing we do, therapeutic and good.
