| Hi all,
Late last night I started shopping in Hippos store and thought I would finish
it this morning but overnight the store closed. There is an option to but if
authorised with code but for whatever reason I cannot sent a message as it states
"I am not authorised to send a message to this seller". Does anyone have
an explanation what is happening? Thanks

Kinda sounds like the error message you might get if you’re on the sellers stop
list. Tho I havnt ever heard that exact phrase so I may be wrong

Kinda sounds like the error message you might get if you’re on the sellers stop
list. Tho I havnt ever heard that exact phrase so I may be wrong

Or it’s simply that the seller doesn’t allow contact.
But then I thought you could always use the Contact button in the store itself

Indeed and when you try to contact them and they have it off I’m pretty sure
it’s a different message with something like “this member dosnt allow (or want
can’t remember) contact”

Yes it's strange as I used that button, I am not on any stop list and weirdly
the option is there to order if given a code but if you can't contact them,
how do you get a code. Thanks for the reply

Which store is it? There’s only two stores with “Hippo” in their names in UK
and they are both open.

My fault: I was looking at open stores, so, obviously, I couldn’t find this one
😅
Now, when I click on Contact, I get the form to send them a message (and I don’t
think my status as Moderator changes anything here, contrarily to the standard
messaging form).
Also, maybe they simply didn’t set a password. There’s no obligation to do so.
Sellers who do it generally give it (or explicitely ask to be contacted) in the
“message from seller.”
For instance, the seller goes on vacation and says “store closed, you can browse
using password 1234 but nothing will ship until XXX.”

I imagine they closed their store as they don't want to take orders at the
moment. The password statement always appears, whether or not the seller has
set a password.
Their terms say ... "BL is a hobby for me so my store is not open 24/7."
If you look in the feedback page, they have the contact option turned off, but
you should still be able to contact them using the contact button by the store
name. Although if they are closed as they don't want to take orders at the
moment, you might not get a response.

Thanks but not on the stop list and one particular item is only sold by this
seller in the UK. Quite annoying but thanks for the reply

| A seller can reserve lots for a buyer. If you contact him and express your interest
he might reserve it for you and then you can buy it once the store re-poens.
