| I just wonder how many of you are experiencing
the same problems with USPS?
- Media Mail very often is scanned 2-3 days
after dropping off at the post office
or not scanned at all. Is it only my local PO?
- I just dropped off a package on 1-3-2024
it was a Priority. It took 6 days to arrive
from IL to Texas like First Class.
Some time ago on Priority shipping label you got
delivery date and it was very accurate. Now it's gone
and it looks like they are doing whenever and whatever
they want 
It's so frustrating

No, I've noticed this as well. Media Mail is becoming the unwanted stepchild
of the USPS.

I stopped using Priority as I've see no real difference anymore in transit
time between it and Ground Advantage.

Poly mailers and small packages are still being scanned regularly but larger
packages don't seem to be scanned all that often anymore. Nowadays I frequently
see nothing from when the USPS accepts the package until it pops up at the distribution
center near the buyer. I'm in NJ, and if it's going to Cali that's
4-5 days of no updates.

Never use Media Mail anymore, it's useless and super slow. Ground advantage
seems to lag in certain parts of the country - I have one in Texas which has
fallen off the radar - it just keeps saying "arriving late, in transit",
which is USPS speak for we don't know where the h-ll the package is. And
there is no difference between priority and ground advantage that i can see -
it takes the same amount of time. Completely agree with the frustrating .

| I can see the problem right away, you said "USPS" and "Illinois"
which likely means the Chicago area postal service.
You're lucky you even got your package

| Couldn't agree with you more the postal system sucks. Why do they have tracking.
Had an order that said it was supposed to be delivered by 9 last night. I live
in Illinois and it didn't leave Massachusetts's until 11:44 a.m. yesterday.

| We have also seen a major drop in quality with USPS.
On December 24th we got an order going to Atlanta, GA. We live in Roswell, GA
so it had less than 25 miles to go. We dropped at USPS early on the 24th. On
January 3rd we got an update the package was leaving the Anchorage, Alaska facility.
My customer finally got the order on Saturday January 6th. It took just under
2 weeks to go 25 miles by way of Alaska.
I have 2 other packages that seem to lost with no updates in over 1 week, but
USPS has assured me that they are on a truck and will arrive soon. They are
blaming the holidays and bad weather, BUT other packages to the same areas are
getting delivered in days.

I had to refund a genuinely vanished package the other day. Luckily low value.
I wouldn't say worse or not. 99% of items arrive eventually. I used Fedex
and UPS a ton during the xmas sales and they were abhorrently slow

| Hello,
I am also in IL and have been having trouble since Christmas. I went into the
post office today because my packages that were scanned on Dec 28th have not
moved since. I was unfortunately told that they are still behind from the holidays
and are not guaranteeing any packages make it in a timely manner. The post office
was also not happy that my mail carrier is scanning my packages at pick-up because
now I have proof that they have the packages and they can no longer say that
they don't have them. We have spoken to our postal carrier to have the packages
scanned as otherwise USPS claims they do not have them and there is nothing they
can do. Some of our packages show an initial scan and a final scan with nothing
in between.

if you lose your USPS receipt & you know where you sent it & what time you dropped
it off at the post office they can bring your receipt back up & reprint it....
i did it just a few weeks ago

| My local post office has become too small for the current size of the town and
there is often a long line. They allow packages to be left on the counter next
to the postal clerks and lots of impatient people do so. I never do because of
what happened to you. I either wait on line, scan the packages using the self
service kiosk and put them in the blue metal bins or I come back later.
I've witnessed the only postal clerk leaves the counter and go to the back
to look for something, leaving plenty of time for someone to swipe packages from
the counter and run out.

| I have had pretty good results, media mail as short as a few days to NY to Cali
in 4. One package of 160 got sent between Ohio and jersey 4 times before getting
to Michigan. Zero lost packages.picture is NY to Cali media mail

Not sure what you are shipping media mail - only printed material can be shipped
this way and certainly not used lego parts or sets.

| Well in the case that you don’t know, U.P.S stands for United Pirate Service.
Yes I have had trouble with ups. Just last month they said a parcel had arrived,
but when I went to the post office it wasn’t there. It arrived a week later.(Crushed
and the tape on the side was broken) The package was directly from Lego.com and
3 of the item were crushed. One was a gift with purchase!
Also some years ago I ordered a book, and after we paid for it (and shipping)
it was mailed. 3 weeks later we get a message saying that the book is being withheld,
because we didn’t pay for it! We tried to pay (again) but the payment, was
denied. I never got the book.

| How are you using Media Mail? I didn't think LEGO was media. The few times
I've used media mail to send books, the postal workers always seem suspicious
and ask me whats inside.

To be technical, if the books do not contain ads, they narrowly fit into "media
mail". Most vintage instructions do not have ads. The newer ones do.
That said, I don't use counter service, don't see the point, so I could
probably ship a rock and not get questioned
