Once a set is uploaded and if i’m missing only 3 pieces say from a set of 500
pieces, is there a way to upload the “have” to all so I can make only 3 entries
not 500.

Hi,

I’m guessing you’re talking about a Wanted List

There’s no way to change the Have fields all together
You can batch-change Colour, Condition, Price, Quantity, and Remark, but not
Have.  (For those, select the items and click the appropriate button on top of
the list.)

Now, you say “upload,” what do you mean by that?
Did you upload a file?  Or did you use “Part Out”?

In both cases, you have the possibility to exclude parts (rightmost column in
the verification page, the box in the header allows to select all the items at
once, so you just need to deselect the ones you want).
That doesn’t affect the Have field, that completely ‘ignores’ the part: it’s
not in the WL in the end.

If you upload a Wanted List as an XML file (https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=207
), you can use the field QTYFILLED to set the Have field.

But, again, that’s before you have the WL.

As a workaround for when the set is already totally in the WL, you can select
the parts you really need and move (or copy) them to another WL.  You can easily
create a new WL for that.
