Hello!

I'm hoping to get randyf's attention by posting a thread as I cannot
get in touch directly. I hope that is okay.

It appears like he's added five new RoboRider wheel entries this year: 32350,
32355, 32357, 32359 and 32361. That is fair as those are technically different
enough from the typical patterned pieces to merit their own catalog entries.
However, there are four more pieces like those that have been confirmed to exist
that don't appear to have their own entries as of yet: 32351, 32358, 32360
and 32363. I have submitted "add" requests for each one with detailed
information as to why; I can also provide photos if necessary. I'm really
hoping my requests don't remain ignored for long.

Additionally, I highly recommend making unpatterned entries for all sixteen RoboRider
wheels as we really don't know for sure if there aren't any metallic
gold pieces outside of the nine that have been seen by fans in the past several
years.

Hunting these obscure pieces down is already hard enough without catalog entry
inaccuracies and duplicates. I had a really neat wanted list assembled for various
kinds of rare colors only to realize last month that all of them had been massively
jumbled up since July.

I'm ready to provide as much additional help as necessary to sort this out
as it really is no help to anyone as is, myself included.

Thanks and have a great New Year's Eve, everyone!

Best,
Illuminatus

Hello!

It appears like he's added five new RoboRider wheel entries this year: 32350,

The five that were added this year were added to fix some data management issues
with having them located with the patterned versions of the wheels, and the only
reason those five were specifically added is because they already had images
in the catalog. I am definitely willing to add others if there is evidence that
they exist and an image is uploaded for them. Since none of the current pending
wheels that you have submitted have pending images, they will not be added until
they do have them. Having said that, please do not take images from other websites
to upload here.

Additionally, I highly recommend making unpatterned entries for all sixteen RoboRider
wheels as we really don't know for sure if there aren't any metallic
gold pieces outside of the nine that have been seen by fans in the past several

The only entries that will be added are those that are known to exist and have
an image. No others will be added.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

The five that were added this year were added to fix some data management issues
with having them located with the patterned versions of the wheels, and the only
reason those five were specifically added is because they already had images
in the catalog. I am definitely willing to add others if there is evidence that

Okay, that's fair in principle but there is one obvious caveat: I can only
provide personal photos of the wheels that I personally own, which are three;
I do not personally own the fourth one yet (which is part of the reason why streamlining
these entries is rather important to me, you see).

Will you allow me to upload an offsite image for the last wheel for the sole
purpose of proving its existence? After which you may discard it and create an
entry without a photo for the time being. I will of course denote which of the
four images is the "borrowed" one.

Alternatively, I can send you a collection of offsite images showing the vast
majority of these wheels via personal message or a means of your choice, again
for the sake of proof alone. Let me know how you'd like me to proceed.

The only entries that will be added are those that are known to exist and have
an image. No others will be added.

That is also fair, although you should know that these are among the most obscure
LEGO pieces in existence. They were only ever distributed in combo packs at German
Toys R Us stores. They surface only several times a year and while nine unique
molds have been consistently seen by vigilant fans, there are reports of a supposed
tenth one per LEGO Customer Support information as far back as 2001. No one has
seen a tenth variety of these wheels yet but ten IS an oddly specific number
to cite AND oddly close to nine. So having all of the sixteen entries would have
been (and in fact was) much more straightforward as sellers simply listed what
they had and buyers wishlisted anything they suspected might exist.

My point is, while I completely understand where you are coming from in rearranging
the database per these standards and while I do agree that having patterned and
unpatterned pieces denoted separately is better in general, you are inadvertently
doing a disservice to the few diligent collectors that have patiently been waiting
for years to collect a full set of these pieces.

Oh and it pretty much goes without saying that casual sellers will now simply
be using both the patterned and unpatterned entries to list these pieces at random,
lol. So in the end it's just more entries to keep track of which is the opposite
of a smooth user experience. Just my two cents and hope you won't hold it
against me! Thanks again for checking in so quick.

I have added seven photos of the seven wheels I personally own. Additionally,
I have temporarily added a crop of someone else's photo as proof of existence
for the last wheel.

I can provide a link to the original photo which shows enough known varieties
of these wheels to be 100% trustworthy.

The additional three wheels that you own have been added to the catalog.

The fourth one will unfortunately not be added since the image provided is not
your own and catalog entries are not approved without an image that can be used.

In the meantime, I have added an additional note to the catalog entry for

Part No: 32360pb01 Name: Technic, Disk 5 x 5 - RoboRider Talisman Wheel, Laser Mold with Robot Pattern
*
32360pb01 Technic, Disk 5 x 5 - RoboRider Talisman Wheel, Laser Mold with Robot Pattern
Parts: Technic, Disk
which states "A metallic gold version of this part without a pattern is known
to exist. If you have one, please contact the BrickLink Catalog Administrators."

Cheers,
Randy
