| Hi all
I find it useful to have the weight in the order, so I can immediately see the
weight of the order and estimate shipping.
Bricklink has weight of bricks, and even if it is a bit off in total, say in
my case a few grammes, it will still give me a good estimate.
I know that some bricks might be missing the weight, but then it could be listed
too how many percent have weight listed. If it is 100, then I know I can trust
it

It just works for... 15 years!
I fighted A LOT on Forum at this period agains Foster who didn't want it.
Dan implemented it so some sellers - like him (sorry to say) - can hide this
weight info.
But it's enabled by default IIRC.
In short, you should see it, and buyers also (if enabled in your shop settings).

The nice thing is that we could discuss this, and BrickLink's what it is
now partly because those discussions and the great decisions Dan took

Our current Instant Checkout shipping calculator is really a weight-based system
with dimensions added for larger items. So as a platform we have long since decided
that catalog weights are good enough to use for selling.

That was a good move indeed! I confirm: auto checkout and payment on site are
HUGE HUGE improvements for the site, for both sellers and buyers!

Maybe “show item weight” here: https://www.bricklink.com/orderSettings.asp?viewFrom=P
If you don’t show the weight of each item, there’s no column for weights and
no place for the total at the bottom.
