I had that too a few days ago. When I reduced the size of the image it worked.

From other posts/threads about it, it also depends on the format (and options
inside the format, so one JPG can pass but not another, even if they are both
the same size).

This is a relatively new problem, right? The method of creating .jpg hasn't
changed for me, but now they get rejected, my solution was create .png instead,
but I didn't try changing the parameters of how a .jpg gets made, there are
some variables that can be adjusted on creation.

The problem has to do with metadata in the image as well as the image size. What
I have found to work for posting images to the forum now is to strip all of the
metadata from the image and then resize it to 600px wide at the maximum before
uploading.

When the site tightened security during the great blackout of November 2023,
image uploads were affected. I have already notified the BrickLink team that
these image problems need to be fixed as soon as possible. I hope they get to
it soon, because it makes my job much more time consuming than before November.

Cheers,
Randy

For the size, the limit is 640px.

Under 640px, the images are left exactly as they were uploaded (same binary file),
while wider images are resized (scaled), so the uploaded file is really interpreted
as an image and that’s where it breaks.
IOW, small images are just read enough to check their size or at least they don’t
go through the problematic filter that breaks on some metadata/options now.
