I doubt they will all become real figures, even Minecraft has not got anywhere
near that number yet. Another interesting point is whether this spells the end
for LEGO Minecraft. It is like LEGO doing Star Trek alongside Star Wars.

Why? DC Comics and Marvel are way more alike than Star Trek and Star Wars, and
LEGO does both.

Minecraft is wildly popular and translates to lego very well. People were begging
for it before it was released.
Also fortnite is an IMO entirely different game and userbase. The comparison
is dubious at best, the only thing they have in common is being popular and being
a game.
I mean if that's the reason it will "end" why are there now Genesis
and Nintendo Character lines?

Don't care for the game at all, but I am excited for some of those minifigure
pieces.
