After searching, the results can be sorted by 'Best Match', 'Price',
'Quantity', 'Sellers', and 'Item Name'.

I'd like to add 'Release Date' to that list.

The goal of many searches is to find something newer or something older, or to
find something we remember from a particular range of dates. Sorting by Release
Date would help navigate a large set of results.

Either (1) use the "Catalog Items" search from the header instead of
the "All Items" search or (2) bookmark the page listed below and always
start a search from there:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalog.asp

Using those gets you what you want without having to wait for BrickLink to add
anything.

Cheers,
Randy

Cheers,
Randy

He might well be confused, if browsing in the "Sets" category in the
Catalog. If I click on "Sets", then on "Agents", a theme listed
there, I only have to set the drop-down box to "Year Released" and then
click the "Go" button to actually make it sort by Year Released.

It will return unsorted results, but in order to make it sort by the selected
category, the "Go" button needs to be pressed, after updating the drop-down
selection.

BrickLink isn't really set up for automatically responding to drop-down changes.
I don't know if this will change in the future, but if he clicks the "Go"
button when changing an option from the drop-down, he should get the results
he's after.

This applies to any drop-down option, and needs manual clicking of the "Go"
button. It's just how BrickLink currently works.

Cheers ...
