I've come across this part and it is showing 2 colours, I believe this is
incorrect. The cap is only in dark blue (the inside of the cap is black) but
there should not be an a choice of 2 colours. I have uploaded some more photos
of the part if that helps.
28430pb03 Minifigure, Hair Combo, Hat with Hair, Police with Dark Blue Top with Gold Badge and Bright Light Yellow Hair Pulled into Bun Pattern (BAM) Parts: Minifigure, Hair {Black}
in black. some may list it as dark blue incorrectly as you can choose whatever
colour you want when listing it

I don't think I haven't explained myself well. Look at the description
it is for a dark blue cap. Why is there an option for black? You can't have
a dark blue cap that is also black. There shouldn't be an option for black
(or any other colours). As far as I know there is no back police cap. The only
possible option would be colour of the hair but there are differnet pb01 pb02
etc
the colour is based of the part that connects to the figures head for example

is a black part not a white part. bricklink doesn't restrict the colours
people can list in so that why some people incorrectly list it as dark blue when
bricklink says its black

Those stormtrooper helmets need to be changed. We don't do things like that
anymore. I have made a note to get to them soon.

It is a molded black hat with dark blue print on it. Therefore, when you list
it as black in your store, it will read "Black Minifigure, Hair Combo, Hat
with Hair, Police with Dark Blue Top with Gold Badge and Bright Light Yellow
Hair Pulled into Bun Pattern (BAM)"
So given it is a black hat with dark blue print, should there be a colour option
of dark blue & black?

No. Only one color can be assigned by a seller to a given part and the rest of
the colors that are printed or molded on that part are contained in the part's
official catalog name.
