Why can't we get an automatic recognition of our local time zone?

In the search function why can it not stay on what we choose, selectinjg our
location and it stay there unless we change it.

I thought it already did. BL is based out of California, which is 3 times zones
away from me, but when I scroll to the bottom of a page, it shows my local time.

Would be useful, and you're hardly the first to request it.

That said, I've no idea the difficulties involved or downsides if any, say
to performance? As it stands now, the main server location is the time zone being
pushed, specifically northern Virginia outside of Ashburn.

But yeah, if the setting is offered, it should be maintained.
