some sellers offer instant checkout where you can see the exact cost and pay
right away. however some seller cant offer instant checkout/show the shipping
price right away due to reasons like size, weight, taxes, and similar

Agreed. I do like the quote option that many provide, the last step of checkout
you can quote instead of complete purchase if they have it enabled.
Though I did just make a large purchase from a polish store that had excellent
shipping breakdown in their terms and it was 100% spot on upon receipt of invoice.
Keep your eye's out for stores like this. I do know that a few countries
mail services have significant price differences based upon the thickness of
items and know that Royal Mail is one of those, often thickness questions show
up in the forums.

It's not always possible to give the accurate price before it's picked,
packed, weighed/measure. However for stores that do not offer instant check-out
I believe they should have to have the quote option available for buyers.
I don't understand stores that don't offer customers quotes when they
can't provide accurate postage rate.

99% of my cancels are from the UK.

It is a bad system, and it needs reform.
The fix is simple...A seller who does not provide instant checkout should be
required to offer a shipping quote option.
I have seen some sellers who hide the cart weight, don't have shipping table
on their splash page, and do not offer quote option.
I don't even see how it is possible to enter into a legally binding contract
with such a store.

Why do you think that is the only solution?
I don't offer the quote function, and it works fine for me. The potential
buyer places an order, I figure out shipping and if they don't like the shipping
cost, they tell me and I cancel the order.
