Would it be possible to get the Color Guide page to be sortable by the column
headings? I'd like to be able to easily see what colors are the most common
for example, or which ones have only existed for a set period of time.

You can download the entire table here and do all manipulation in Excel or similar
spreadsheet:

Select:
(x) Colors
Download format = [Tab-Delimited File]
and click [Download]
