I love the different rebel pilots lego makes, but I can't help but feel like
there's something missing. That missing thing is the diversity of the pilots.
Lego has been using the same head for its pilots for a while now. We got our
first human pilot of a different race this year. Take Barion Raner, (Blue 4).

Minifig No: sw0801 Name: Rebel Pilot Y-wing (Dark Blue Jumpsuit)
*
sw0801 (Inv) Rebel Pilot Y-wing (Dark Blue Jumpsuit)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Rogue One
This is Raner's helmet and flight suit, but the wrong person. What are all's
thoughts on the matter?

Actually we got Finch Dallow in 75188, Resistance Bomber, back in 2019.

Finch Dallow?

The good thing about helmets with visors is that you can put any flesh tone head
under them and they look good.

These are Star Wars Characters. They are not from planet earth. How would we
even know if they are human?

I don't think there are people from Hoth.

the Wampa's live there.

they are not 'people' , they are a different species than humans, they
are not that intelligent, but intelligence is not a proper way to determine if
a species should be recognized as being from a particular place. they would be
the indigenous Hothians.

just as the Sand People are not Humans nor that intelligent, but they are from
Tatoonie.. & would be considered Tatoonieians.

but there is the Hoth Rebel Base.. where Humans (people) live...
how long that rebel base has been there would be a guess.. but they are described
as being "Hoth"...

The only way to accurately gauge the intelligence of each individual species
and then rank them according to their intelligence level is to do an in-depth
analysis of each species and then compare them by some predetermined scale....
oh wait, IT'S JUST A MOVE FRANCHISE.

Although whoever determines what the intelligence scale is will bias it based
on their own abilities. It is a bit like when some people that say football players
or other sports people are not very intelligent as they often do not speak as
well as more academic people, yet their ability to process the flight of an object
and work out where it will land or be able to plan where to be on the pitch because
another play will do something in future shows a different sort of intelligence.

oh wait, IT'S JUST A MOVE FRANCHISE.

Oh yeah.

as many "well because" excuses made up by diehards who want it to be
tidy instead of just accepting that parts of it are poorly thought-out.

For example one could argue,
Due to amortization of costs, the cockpits of the rebel fighters only favor humanoids.
So you don't see any Trodatome or Hutt pilots.

It sounds like a great opportunity for a talented artist to make a series of
funny star wars fan art portraits:

I love James Hance!

I own a few of his works. His Wookie-the-Chew line is a mash up of Winnie the
Pooh and Star Wars, always fun, occasionally adorable.

Those are awesome! The parallel between Han and Chewie and Christopher Robin
and Pooh is very entertaining.

Love the Eeyore AT-AT walker too.

the conversation is about Star Wars Rebel Pilots.

why would a Kaminoan try to fly an X-Wing Fighter...?
.. as you just said, his head would not fit in the cockpit..

The Kaminoan Rebel Pilot would be better suited PILOTING something larger , like
a Battle Cruiser with a large Main Deck ...

large Rebel Ships:
- a Rebel Troop Transport Ship
- an Alderaan Cruiser
- A Mon Calamari Cruiser
- even Hodo's Last Jedi Battle Cruiser.. ( which, now that you mention it,
a Hutt could Pilot that...)

.. you are aware the Rebellion has large ships.. correct?

NERD ALERT !!

Just kidding, I actually think its pretty amazing that some people possess the
amount of knowledge about certain entertainment franchises/ topics that they
do, more power to you! After all its a fun hobby and I think we can all agree
that that's why we are all on this website...

yeas, possessing knowledge about something a seller is selling to others is usually
needed.
+ i was born in '77, so i grew up watching it

i wouldn't sell Surfboard Gear, as i know nothing about it.

.. just weird to see someone labeling me a "diehard full of excuses"
when their comedy routine doesn't even make sense...

Just because larger ships exist, doesn't mean their piloting skills are better
for suited for them just because of their body type.

Also, sorry if you thought I was calling you out specifically. I was poking fun
at the fandom (myself included) as a whole that can get a bit overzealous. I'm
100% here for it though, because it also drives the value of our store inventories

well.. you established you type-o'd... not sure where this "WE"
got tossed into it. you seemeed very focused on the x-wing fighter for some reason
during that entire message.

but , ok..

A- you would laugh at them & make jokes about them with big toothed emoji's,
Strutting around like a rooster who just Owned the place... then when called
out & asked about the Larger Rebel Ships that need Piloting, you would act like
you are defending them...

...but yeah, being fluent in what you are selling helps assure buyers you know
what's what & you aren't just riding some trendy money wave & that you
haven't only seen clips & trailers of a movie franchise.

I agree to a certain extent. I think what drives most buying activity is wanted
lists and condition.
At least on this platform. Maybe you’ve had different experiences in selling
other venues.
I was a big fan in my youth of the originals and prequels, but didn’t see 7-9
until this year.
I’m also slowly making my way thru the clone wars series as my hope was that
it would better help ID loose figs in a used lot quicker.
Over the years, I got good at ID’ing many figs from every theme without necessarily
needing to see the source material. And being an expert on the source material
doesn’t appear to have a bearing on whether one can complete a figure correctly
from its inventory.

Star Wars as a franchise is one huge money grab by those in charge, and I’m definitely
riding that wave.
I’ve also used the money to fund collection pieces of my own from multiple themes.
I get satisfaction scouring through used lots and finding high quality pieces
to either sell or complete figs to sell to someone who will appreciate them more
in their collection than just sitting abandoned in box somewhere.

*facepalm..

i guess being more knowledgeable about a topic is being discussed is being 'hung
up on semantics' when someone states something that makes ZERO sense.
if you said a Volcano erupts red melted Marshmallows.. anyone who says 'your
wrong, it's Lava' is "hung up on Semantics"...

( but since you just tried to establish your keyboard typing superiority & feel
the need to point out a spelling error by your 'opponent' means you aren't
talking about yourself when you reference someone being "hung up on semantics"....)

but you do whatever you think saves face on your end.....

you included me in something i never agreed was established.

but you are free to continue whatever 'this' is you are doing. seeming
like you cannot just take the "L" & walk away & that you HAVE to defend
yourself no matter what.

maybe you shouldn't go around attacking others referring to them as "Diehards
full of excuses" when you follow up that statement with a pile of non-sense
that is easily proven wrong.

I find you both provocative, how you're both willing to assert your respective
opinions while simultaneously exhibiting less than the strength of character
needed for such strong minds as you both obviously have. You've fallen prey
to the "don't ever want to be perceived as fallible" syndrome.

Not enough control needed for the amount of strength of mind you both exhibit.
Work on building that character to match those magnificant egos, would
be my advice... But against any odds I would expect from Vegas, if either one
of you did accept that advise, you'd have my respect and admiration.

Unfortunately and predictably, posting such candid thoughts nearly always result
in one type of response: protect the ego all cost! Which usually starts with
some sort of mindless repartee… Can’t wait to read what you both come up with
in that regard

A shame really.

Well shucks... I never know if I'm responding a honest question or sarcasm.
I'll go ahead and assume that those antlers in you ID pic haven't protruded
too far into the skull, and reply to what is an honest question: Las "Vegas"
still sets the odds.

If you would like further clarification, PM.

"feel the need to point out a spelling error by your 'opponent'
"

.. that is me acknowledging a spelling error on my end

so.. what are you talking about when you say "You've fallen prey
to the "don't ever want to be perceived as fallible" syndrome."
...?

i just openly acknowledged a 'Fallible' on my part.

stating facts about a topic & correcting someone who is staing falsehoods that
make no sense is "protecting your EGO"...

welcome to 2023

And now I finally know who and what you are here in the BL forum. Been trying
to figure you out. Thanks, the confirmation is appreciated.

oh, that i know what i am talking about & openly acknowledge when i make a typing
error..?

please be more vague...

the amount of comments that make ZERO sense in this thread are piling up fast..
you should make some sort of personal attack comment next, oh wait, that is what
you did to the other guy regarding 'Vegas'...

Thats fine. I now understand that you're inputs are of not much value. That
you're another one of those about the drama.

As to the "other guy regarding 'Vegas'" apparently they have
already seen through you

the interesting thing is...
when i quoted that WebMD list.. i left off the last sign of a Toxic Person as
i did not want to post an incindiary thing that might be perceived as being applied
to someone without knowing that person.
feel free to look up the list on your own.

hopefully Pops, that isn't what you are referring too here / now. that's
a dark road.

the direct attack on me you posted was unwarranted, thankfully the admin's
cancelled it & i appreciate the un-named member who messaged me directly explaining
their experiences with you previously.

we do not need an apology from you, we prefer to never have interaction with
you ever again.

maybe you should refrain from posting screenshots of your personal stats page
in the future.. only thing you showed everyone was how many negative feedbacks
you have had to get removed , how many members have you stop-listed & how many
members are ignoring you..

it was kind of embarrassing honestly.

good luck in your future ventures, we just want no part of any of it.

You're right on this. I honestly thought you were agreeing with the OP since
your action figure picture showed lack of body type diversity. (all humanoids
with roughly same body shape)

I misread that and I will eat my L now.

there's something missing. That missing thing is the diversity of the pilots.
Lego has been using the same head for its pilots for a while now. We got our
first human pilot of a different race this year. Take Barion Raner, (Blue 4).

This is Raner's helmet and flight suit, but the wrong person. What are all's
thoughts on the matter?

Everybody cool it.

a simple civil conversation about Star Wars Rebel Pilots evolved into numerous
other members dishing out personal attacks at others who talked about it.

sometimes being factually correct & defending yourself againist out-of-the-blue
attacks has it's downfalls... you get accused of things that cannot be backed-up
with anything.

OP asked for our Thoughts regarding 'Diversity in Rebel Pilots' .. that
is what i have done.

and members who do not like me cannot stand i am right..........

an Internet Forum at it's finest.
