Hi,

I added a few parts for the set ELVES 41195 a few weeks ago.
I checked the pending approval parts and they were not here. So I added every
parts, taking into account the last number in pending approval.
But today, were added the same parts in catalog, by another user. All numbers
are after the parts I added, so they were proposed after...

WHY ?

I took a very long time for these parts, taking pictures, deciding how to name
them (the name could not be long in the catalog), weigh them, add parts to the
catalog, add images...

I don't really understand why and how they could have been added after by
another user !

I do my best to help here in the forum and for the catalog, but I can say that
I won't continue that volunteer work here after that !

Please pause a moment and take a breath...

You are making a big, big assumption here that this issue happened on purpose.

Please understand a couple of facts:

There are more than 500 parts pending with the word 'sticker' on them.
It's entirely possible that the duplicates were not noticed.

There are just a few Catalog Experts with limited time to work on approving items.

The tools these Experts have to use do not include a robust search engine or
the ability to sort by date as far as I am aware.

I am very sorry that you are upset that your submissions were missed. It's
happened to many of us from time to time. It's a big catalog and there is
quite a long queue for stickered counterparts. The submitters are all people
who sometimes make mistakes (I know I do!) and the Experts are all people who
sometimes make mistakes. And we are all working on getting the best, most complete
catalog we can.

Thanks,
~Jen

Those parts were submitted in April and were pending since then.

They now say added to the catalog on September 18th as that's when they were
approved.

Any numbers that are more recent than the ones you submitted are only higher
numbers because I had to renumber them before approval.

For example part 85984pb407 has a higher number than your submission but was
originally submitted as 85984pb360

We can't use 85984pb360 because we already have 85984pb360L and 85984pb360R

Part No: 85984pb360L Name: Slope 30 1 x 2 x 2/3 with Medium Azure Stripes Pattern Model Left Side (Sticker) - Set 75891
*
85984pb360L Slope 30 1 x 2 x 2/3 with Medium Azure Stripes Pattern Model Left Side (Sticker) - Set 75891
Parts: Slope, Decorated

So I had to use a higher number.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks,
Paul.

It's very curious because I checked every similar parts in pending and they
were not there. I can make mistake too, but I'm sure about that.

When I said I do my best to help here, as I did yesterday, I checked 80 pages
of stickers sheet to find one 1x4 stickered brick that was not in catalog yet.
So I'm sure about what I do.
Too bad that I lost all this time for nothing.
Of course, I will still do my best to contribute here, but now I will count my
time.

Contribute what you feel is the best number, don't worry about it. They will
change it to the required number when they get to it. There are so many parts
in this catalog nobody could possibly have enough time to find them all. Just
do the best preparing your submission and be prepared for it to be altered or
rejected or not used.

The catalog admins don't have the time to debate who submitted something,
and they won't do that in any case.

Do the best submission you can and hope that it is accepted.

Cheers ...

No offense, but this is poor and inaccurate advice.

+1 admins have an incredible amount of work to do so submiters should do as much
as they can such as finding the exact next number needed (which isn't that
difficult) and similar to save admins time

You do a great job too here

For this set, I had the parts 93587 and not 38224. Due to the fact they are not
the same part, maybe they should not have been deleted in pending...

Let me check with the original inventory submitter and the submitter of part
38224pb01.
