Had a good day spending time with those that have similar life experience, that
have gone through some of the same trials and efforts. It was as they claimed
it would be, cathartic. But soon enough for me it turned into; can’t wait to
get back to meeting those with “other” life experiences to share. Got to pondering
that set of emotions though. I know, don't do that!
It's our sometimes nonsensical and unfortunately immutable nature, I expect
- In feeling the need to not-let-go or forget certain experiences, while simultaneously
wanting so much to put them behind us and to move past onto filling our thoughts
with new experiences, either vicariously through others or on our own. Both are
enjoyable and do the job, btw.
Some call it “not dwelling in the past” or “life is all too brief, make room
for it” Either way it’s irrefutable that any time spend reliving the past, leaves
that much less for new experiences and future endeavors.
I’m speaking of those personal experiences that do so much to shape who we are
at any given point moving through life, and not in the broader sense that are
lessons of history, if not learned, being doomed to repeat - influence
over us.
