Please create a new Relationship:

Same Catalogs in Different Languages

Or merge these two:

Same Books in Different Languages
Same Gear in Different Languages

And change the name to:

Same Items in Different Languages

Personally I'm not in favor of merging those 2, because they have a lot of
relationships already and for books it already takes some time to find the existing
ones.

As for a new category for Catalogs in different languages, I ask myself if it's
worth the time we have to spend on all these catalogs. Is there really a need
to see that the same catalog exists in a different language by relationship?

It's not that important to see a relationship of the same catalog in different
languages as it is to see a relationship to a look-a-like minifigure torso for
instance. If you have a catalog in hand, you can find it by number and language.

There are a lot of relationships that can not be added in an existing BL relationship,
like

[b=9781780557878]
and
[b=000003977927]

Same Books, Same Language, Different Name.

And a lot of parts that fit another part, besides wheels, windows, etc.

Imo we should use relationships for items for which it's hard to find the
relationship in another way. Just my thoughts.

Just suggested merging because in the past Robert tried to minimize the number
un different relationships and these seemed combinable to me.

Just wait for change request from people, not many new users know how to find
similar items in our catalog.

As a marketplace too the majority of users don't have the items in hand when
looking for them. I just thought that if we have languages rels for something
why not for all.

I thought of that when I approved the second one and it's on my list to discuss,
but imo this relationship is meant for patterned items not for book names / covers.
Besides I'm not 100% sure if the contents is the same / similar. And thinking
this over, it could be the contents of catalogs in different languages also varies.
So when are books, catalogs similar? When the cover is the same?

I would be in favor of a new relationship instead of replacing the two older
ones. In fact, I have often wondered why we didn't have one already. It would
unfortunately be a _lot_ of work to merge the other two, since we don't have
the ability to merge relationships.

What would need to be done is one relationship would get renamed, and then all
of the entries in the other relationship would need to be manually moved over
into the renamed relationship. Once that was done, then the now obsolete relationship
could be finally be deleted.

Since the "Same Books in Different Languages" relationship currently
has 2419 entries and the "Same Gear in Different Languages" relationship
currently has 529 entries, the Gear one would be the first to go. But that is
still a lot of entries to manually change, and we just don't have the time
for that.

Cheers,
Randy
