When viewing items in either stores or when looking them up and clicking on a
item the X must be clicked to close it, and is the only way to close it.
Could the items be closed by also using the Escape key to make it easier to look
at items quickly?

I agree and think those windows should close when you click anywhere off of them
and on the page. (Like all older BL pages work.) Needing to focus your click
on the X is inefficient!
