It is quite clear that Bricklink has issues with its mailserver and it's
about time that Bricklink recognizes it and takes action. For over 6 months now,
we notice that both inward and outward invoices (buyer and seller) often arrive
delayed and clustered. This morning again, we received several invoices from
purchases we made over the past couple of days with the exact same e-mail time
stamp.
At our side this only concerns invoices and not order confirmations. And no,
it's not a spam(filter) issue.
The issue is erratic, sometimes there's no issue, sometimes the delay is
about one day, but it can take almost a week as well. This could point at buffer
overflow issues at the Bricklink mailserver software.
Needless to say that this is impacting the core Bricklink service. Buyers can't
pay if they don't receive an invoice and sellers don't understan why
buyers don't pay and send reminders (or duplicate invoices) that are sometimes
delayed as well.
Please, Bricklink: give us some info and let us know what's your assessment
of this issue.
For years I never received any communication with Bricklink via email, probably
for about 5000+ of my orders. No order confirmation, no drive thru message,
no invoice, no invoice paid emails. I just had to check the site regularly to
see if i had any orders or if they were paid etc.
The only thing that was ok with it was that my customers were receiving their
emails, invoices etc from me.
If i asked about the issue, I got sick of hearing check your spam folder, as
if I wouldn't notice 10,000 emails sitting in my junk folder. Or contact
your provider, who I did contact and they did nothing.
I recently changed email addresses and the emails started working again, until
last week, when they stopped as have many others.
However, the concern now is that my customers are not getting their emails.
One customer never received their invoice and I had to contact them about it.
They had 6 orders just sitting there because they believed that no one had sent
them invoices.
This is a serious problem for Bricklink as it is affecting sales, sellers and
buyers.
