Anyone else having delivery issues with this worthless government agency?
Here's my agonizing ongoing saga. My order was shipped on Aug 5th from GA,
Later that day it arrived in Kansas KS distribution center. Aug 6th it left Kansas
City KS distribution center, on Aug 8th it arrived in Atchison KS, completely
passing my house in the process. Later in the evening of Aug 8th it went to the
Kansas City MO distribution center than ending up back at the Kansas City KS
distribution center, again completely bypassing my house. Early on Aug 10th it
arrived at the Kansas City MO distribution center, it left there only to arrive
at the Kansas City KS distribution center again later that morning. By the afternoon
of the 10th it was out for delivery, only to end up back at the Kansas City KS
distribution center on the 12th. How many times are they planning on bypassing
my house? On the 13th it was in transit to the next facility, Aug 14 says it
arrived at post office and later that day was out for delivery. Well today is
the 15th, no order and no update from the USPS. From now on I'll only buy
from sellers who use Fedex or UPS.
I know USPS has its issues with redirection, but as a seller who ships to the
US with UPS, they aren't without their own problems as well. It's not
uncommon to get random delays for various and bizarre reasons (which they always
put into the tracking notes). UPS is usually faster, but there are times that
USPS is just as fast.
From now on I'll only buy
from sellers who use Fedex or UPS.
I have had a BL order go through a similar set of blunders, so I understand your
frustration, but if you only buy from sellers who use FedEx or UPS, then you're
going to have a very small percentage of sellers left to buy from.
I’ve had excellent service from USPS. Occasional issues but within the range
of normal expectations with frequent orders. They paid an insurance claim very
quickly for one lost package. UPS has been much slower in delivery.

I wouldn't stress over this to much. I get that it sucks to watch it go
back and forth, but at least you know that it's still around. I've had
packages though USPS and other shipping companies that just go silent for 3 or
4 weeks and then just magically show up. If you only want UPS or Fedex, I'm
sure you'll have to ask most US seller to get a shipping quote as it's
not as economical and will definitely cost you more money per order. Good luck.
Based near Wichita, KS, I have seen this a lot from this KC Distribution center.
A month or so ago I ordered from a seller in KC for a couple parts i need in
a rush. My package arrived at the distribution center, left that evening and
ended up in Idaho. It took 7 days to get 200 miles down the highway to Wichita.
I can think of at least 3 times my buyers have messaged me about late deliveries
arising from KC sending a package a thousand the wrong direction.

2,500 packages sent with USPS and they've never lost one. Occasionally one
goes back and forth a few times like this, but with 400 million pieces of mail
sent every day, I find it amazing that it works at all.

Yeah, sometimes USPS packages go on a little barcode-scanning-backtracking-inexplicable
journey. However, they usually do find their way eventually. Meanwhile, UPS and
Fedex are very fond of leaving my packages on my neighbor's porch, on the
next block, out on the sidewalk... wherever, basically. USPS seems to be more
reliable in my area. Oh, except on Saturdays. Well, nevermind...
