| Hello
Please change JW115 From 2.6 x 4.3 x 2 cm To 2.6 x 4.3 x 1 cm
This is a significant difference for Canadian shipping as under 2cm permits oversized
envelope. As it is identified, its not permitted.
Thanks

So what dimensions does Bricklink use for calculating shipping? This was driven
by a customer trying to place an order and not getting oversized letter mail
option. It seems like what you are saying is that most figures, with a hat,
exceed the 2cm minimum. This must affect everyone.
Does every seller in Canada need to override dimensions in inventory for most
figures? Why am I just finding out now about this ridiculous error?

Apparently you haven't been selling a lot of minifigs with cowboy hats.
Just finding out about it now means it hasn't had a major impact on you.

No can do. The packing dimensions for a minifigure are defined by the assembled
item as shown in the catalog image.

You can always change your dimensions in your inventory. Or change it to weight
bound instead of volume bound

Just my 2 cents: it's not 'ridiculous' for catalog contributors to
submit measurements for the minifigs as they are when built. We need a consistent
and comparable system. This does not include taking a fig apart to imagine all
the ways it might fit into certain postal systems.

I saw that. It is actually inconsistent for new lego. If it’s assembled then
its not new anymore. Therefore the package dimensions of new minifigures should
reflect unassembled items.

This is not precisely true, but that is a discussion for another thread.

I guess I will say first that our website doesn't just sell New LEGO. And
my point was that since the dimensions are submitted by a wide variety of contributors,
we need a consistent method of measuring.
What may be helpful is a way for sellers to opt to use the built dimensions or
a parted-out version with each individual element. This requires programming
and upgrades on the BL side. It would also have implications for selling minifigs
without a completed inventory. I expect no one wants to wait for that. Or
sellers with restrictive postal systems could use the provided tools for setting
their own weights and measurements.
So, I would suggest sending a message to BL asking for this upgrade. The dimensions
as listed are not incorrect according to our published system.

I personnaly prefer to get them unassembled, but this isn't how it's
ruled on BrickLink:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102
New Minifigures - Minifigures are brand new, taken directly from new sets or
were purchased "as new" in another form such as accessory packs or Pick
A Brick and have been handled only for sorting. Minifigures may be listed
as new either assembled or unassembled.
