| I have all these boxes from my kids' lego sets. We would always break them
down and save them but I really have no use for them. Should I try to sell them?
Is there much market? Also how would you ship them?
If there is a market for them I will sell them but seems like the shipping would
be terrible and maybe not worth the effort. What does everyone else do with the
old boxes?

I would list them. I am sure they would sell eventually. Not sure why anyone
would throw them away.

If you have an infinite amount of storage space, and no carrying costs, then
maybe. In the real world, storing all those boxes, for a return that is rare,
usually ends up costing more than you earned. Large boxes have an ever increasing
cost of shipping, so that bites into the sales as well.
To the OP, all my boxes are now (as of a few months back) going to recycling.

Same here fir run of the mill small sets. Boxes for expensive sets are probably
worth keeping. But for ne anything cheap that many people part out, the boxes
and instructions get recycled.

| I had a similar scenario from my own collection. I listed a bunch of flattened
boxes and have been surprised that they do sell. I mean, not super quickly,
but they have been selling slowly.
The way I ship them - I use a regular shipping box, but unbuilt. I kind of slide
the LEGO box into the unbuilt shipping box, it becomes a big flat package. Then
I tape around the edges of the box. I also put paper around the edges of the
LEGO box so that it doesn't stick to the tape. I've been able to reuse
a bunch of amazon boxes this way. It's kind of a lot of effort, and I think
it's really only worth it if you're getting $10 or more for the box.
Otherwise, between the cost of the shipping box and fees (BL and PP), you're
not really going to break even or find the profit is worth the effort.

| I was just looking to see how much boxes go for and I'm confused. I know
I have the box for Lord of the Rings Battle of Helm's Deep. I'm not selling
that set but I do have the box. Could the cheapest current listing actually be
$75 for the box only?! If someone wants to buy an old box for that much I'll
find a way to ship it but is that possibly correct?!

That's what people are listing it for but check the last 6 months' sales.
It's only sold six times (3 new, 3 used).
Of course it's possible someone is out there waiting for a listing that isn't
so expensive.
