First class envelope. I always ship smaller orders that way unless requested
otherwise so I can keep shipping prices down for my store.

That's at least part of your problem.

"Large Envelopes (Flats)
The single-piece 1-ounce rate for large envelopes (flats) is $0.80.
The maximum size for large envelopes is 15" x 12" x 3/4" thick.
The maximum weight for large envelopes is 13 ounces. A large envelope exceeding
13 ounces is classified as a Priority Mail item.
When a First-Class Mail item exceeds any one of the maximum measurements of a
large envelope, it is classified and priced as a package (parcel).
When a flat-size piece of mail is a box or has contents that make the mailpiece
rigid, it is classified and priced as a package
.
All large envelopes (flats) must be rectangular. “Rectangular” includes square-shaped
pieces."

I somewhat understand the need to add that bit… but still.

Then you made your own mess here. First Class envelope is for paper only and
is not intended for mailing merchandise. The rules specifically preclude variation
in thickness and rigidity. First Class envelope is intended to be run through
the roller sorting machines.

Don't blame the USPS or its employees for this one.

LEGO parts must ship First Class package.

Agreed...the tread marks are probably from the envelope getting stuck in a sorting
machine.

Luckily they also didn't slap postage due on it for the package rate.

Also, I’ve shipped over 100 orders in bubble mailers with rarely having problems

Four out of 100+ is a lot - that's 3.67% of your orders!

I've had two orders go missing (knock wood) out of 650+ in 3 years. No reported
damage. That's 0.3%

3 out of 4 the orders I mentioned before was actually orders that I ordered and

The problem isn't so much the bubble mailer as it is the choice of shipping
method (in this case, first class large envelope).

Pretty much anything that isn't a document has to be shipped as a package.

Yes, I've sent and received many orders packaged in bubble mailers, and very
few have been damaged along the way. But they've all been sent as first class
parcels.

Hire a lawyer and sue USPS for damages. Unless you insured it, in which case
file the insurance claim.

But yeah, someone at USPS needs to hand in their key and ID card, or get fired.
That's not right.

Cheers ...

I agree. That employee needs fired. But y’know, it was only 9 dollars, and I
doubt that suing one of the most important companies in the US would be a useless
waste of time unfortunately. Plus, do you realize how expensive lawyers are these
days? 😂 (unless you’re joking, in which case, please make fun of me for taking
you seriously this whole time 😂)

I should state it's the principle of the system that failed to properly deliver
your package without running over it, but y'know, if it had been 90 dollars
instead of 9, my statement would have been the same. As for taking you seriously,
make of it what you will!

😂

I don't understand why, but those particular mailers are complete shite.
The only two issues I've ever had involved that style of mailer, and both
times they were covered in black skid marks like that and the contents were ground
flat.

She sent me these pictures….. I will refund her, but I really can’t stand when
the USPS who is supposed to be so reliable has done this to me four times now
this year alone. Just my little bit of ranting for the day lol

I had a UPS driver that threw my packages under the garage door because it was
left open a few inches so the feral outdoor cats can get in. My wife ran over
a complete series of Stargate bluray.

John P - imagine if she had run over your Barbie’s!

I’ve shipped no shortage of orders, mostly first class, and cant remember ever,
ever, ever having an issue. I pay the extra fee for a rigid envelope that is
over 3/4” thickness and I also wrap the bags of bricks in additional bubble wrap.
It’s that little extra touch to ensure the recipient gets the bricks they ordered.

I know this is a month old, but I’m going to reply anyway. One way to prevent
this is to use a very small rigid box. The one I found is a ULine product S-2457.
It was made to ship cassette tapes (which barely exist today), but it works fine
for small number of bricks/plates/etc. Imagine in your mind what a cassette tape
in a plastic container looked like, and that is how much space you have to work
with. I bought a huge number of these years back, and am slowly working thru
them.

Forgot about those things, used a cassette box for some orders years ago, not
sure if it was the same one.

Seem to remember I used it for some of the expensive trans red round shields
to protect them.
