I am in Estonia, and the public mail provider just jumped the prices 40%
In general prices have gone up, but 40% is a lot.

I will look into other options now, but it is hard to sell with minimum shipping
price of ~10 USD.
Also, small orders are not possible, at the minimum limit is 250g.

Are such prices common around the world?

Shipping varies around the world but I am not too surprised at expensive shipping
prices.

It's one of the things that buyers should be aware of. If I place an order
overseas I tend to make it a medium or large order, and therefore am not overly
concerned with cost of shipping, especially since a lot of the time it will have
to include some additional packaging.

Hope that helps. You may want to remind new buyers that have not had much experience
regarding how the shipping works, that the items have to be packed into a container
that will fit them and that there will be extra weight if the parts have to be
separated into individual bags.

For example, it is a lot more common for new parts to be shipped in separate
bags.

Used parts might get their own bag if there is a significant number of the same
element and type. The seller might consolidate used parts into a bag to save
on shipping costs, unless the buyer specifies otherwise and is willing to accept
the extra shipping weight associated with packing used parts into separate bags.

Hope this helps. If the buyer is experienced, they should not be too concerned
about shipping costs. I've had some overseas packages sent to me, and it
is an eye opening experience learning just how big some parts can get!

Cheers ...

That is a very large price increase. It must be very worrying.

Within the US, our smallest package is 4oz (about 110g) and ships between US
$3.50 - 4.00. Our prices jumped dramatically a few years ago but have been steady
since then.

However, our international shipping is outrageous: an 8oz (225g) package is $15
to nearby Canada, and $16-18 to most of Europe.

This price is enough to keep me from buying in the US - I usually buy single
bricks and parts I need, then shipping would be more than the parts I need
