I accidentally shipped a

Set No: 40588  Name: Flowerpot
*
40588-1 (Inv) Flowerpot
292 Parts, 2023
Sets: Promotional

when they ordered

Set No: 40591 Name: Death Star II
*
40591-1 (Inv) Death Star II
289 Parts, 2023
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

They contacted me and let me know the issue, I asked if they would send the flowerpot
back if I send them a prepaid return label with their Death star. They said,
of course.

I have been quite dreary for weeks since my depression is on overdrive and it
is hard to get motivated to do much. But, I tell my self, I got my customer's
money, I owe them their order. It helps to blow the dark clouds away for a while.
I guess I need to pay more attention when I am feeling like this.

But, it all worked out in the end, which is nice.

What was your biggest Bricklink OOPS as a buyer or seller?

This seems small but I once had

Part No: 22885  Name: Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side
*
22885 Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side
Parts: Brick, Modified {Black}

in my inventory instead of what my buyer ordered, which was

Part No: 67329 Name: Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side and Ends
*
67329 Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side and Ends
Parts: Brick, Modified {Black}

My theory is that I got the two mixed up for a previous customer who didn't
complain, but I'm not entirely sure. So I buy 2 copies of a set with the
latter part in them so I can send to the buyer, thinking I'll part the rest
of the parts out and just put them in my store.

That works fine but I then get another order including

Part No: 67329 Name: Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side and Ends
*
67329 Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side and Ends
Parts: Brick, Modified {Black}

here I had parted out those sets but forgot to exclude the parts that I had already
removed! So I actually wound up buying 2 more of that set to fulfill the 2nd
order. I console myself thinking that I might never have gotten that 2nd order
(which was sizeable - more than those 4 sets that I bought) without accidentally
listing those parts.

I once put a bag of parts in my pocket, forgot about it, then (politely but condescendingly)
accused a seller of not shipping them. Feels bad man.

How would you feel if your order that was supposed to be shipped to Montreal
goes to Peru and vice versa?

I would go running! Like 3-4 times a week. It gives such a boost for health,

I hope you have help and are on medicine?
If not get both.

Yes, having a job to do helps, but it still takes strength to put yourself to
it.
Go for a daily walk, I did a one hour walk, daily, had to push myself out the
front door

Yup, your brain doesn’t function right, I am surprised it doesn’t happen more
often….

I sold an opened set without checking the content, it looked okay

Good luck, if you need someone to talk to, contact me.

Alternative (bad) seller response: can't you just paint it grey and turn
it upside-down?

Yeah, they are both made of plastic

  What was your biggest Bricklink OOPS as a buyer or seller?

I once swapped two, almost identical, orders before shipping. The one that was
supposed to go to Ireland went to Germany, and virsa versa.
Luckily both buyers were cool about it, and returned the orders back to me without
issues at my cost. In the end they both received the correct order with a big
discount for the trouble.
Now I only print shipping labels to one order at the time

My biggest BIGGEST oops, well actually more like a "what were you thinking
you idiot" kink of moment...

A few years back a customer placed a good size order of parts and such, filled
it and then dropped it off at the post office and everything seemed fine. Several
days later the customer contacts us that they had not received it yet and said
that the tracking number only shows that postage was purchased but that was it.
Long story short, come to figure out that I never attached the postage label
to the order. I went to the post office and they said that there was really nothing
they could do because there was no address on the package so it was sent to that
dark place where packages go to die. We always put a secondary label on every
order that we ship that has our store name and the order number on it but back
then, no address. Sense then we have included our address on the label for those
"just in case" moments.

I wonder what they do with all those packages? I bet there are some great (and
not so great) finds in those piles.

In France, lost packages end up in a special center (in the town of Libourne),
where they are opened and investigated, and for those that don’t have any info,
the contents are sold at auctions.

(It’s also where the “secrétariat du Père Noël” (Santa Claus’s office) is.  That
is, when you send your wish letter to Santa for Xmas, it arrives there and they
answer you.)
