| I recently found out that Paypal has permanently limited my account due to a
"potential risk". They wont tell me what I've done, only that I've
violated the user agreement and I can no longer do business with Paypal. The
man I talked to on the phone asked me if I was using a VPN. I am not. I'm
using my own personal computer. He couldn't tell me anything more. I have
filed an appeal but I am at a loss for what I should do. I can set up a new
Paypal with a new name and email but I don't want the same thing to happen
again and I have no idea what rule I have violated!
Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope, nothing. I’ve only ever sold parts though Bricklink. I have no other
transactions. I maybe have $300 in sales since I opened the account in January.

Don’t try to fight it by opening a new account. That won’t work. Call them and
try to resolve the matter with a supervisor. Insist on speaking to a supervisor
or have one call you back. A supervisor can reverse a permanent block, only reason
i know is one of my family members had this happen and the supervisor cleared
it up. might be a mistake on their end.

That's pretty scary! Could it be the email you linked to Paypal was hacked
or compromised?
It's times like these that it might be nice to have a lawyer or someone that
speak legalese to intervene.
I do hope it gets worked out for you,
Jen

Have you had any/many claims against you where they (PayPal) have lost money?
I've only ever heard of this once where the seller always had delivery confirmation
but had received multiple card chargebacks against payments in a short period.
So The buyers were refunded and seller protection was in place and presuambly
PayPal ate the costs.
