But also there's a relatively new recuperation file feature, don't know
how and when it works, but it did for me after a rare crash...

that’s all good do you know if there are any auto backup features? Or just
my faulty memory

True. I’m assuming if mine had been able to then a prompt would have shown saying
I could try to recover. I’ll just have hope I remember to save and the weekly
power shorts dont continue

Never use a production PC without an UPS (uninterruptible power supply).
You can start as cheap as $50 maybe, at least it gives you the time to power
everything off properly.
A PC can be "bricked" without such sudden power offs. It's an easy
risk to fix.

It’s connected to our main grid but like once a week lately power goes off for
less then a second and then it goes back to normal. A year or so ago it destroyed
my 1 monitor. I’ve got a surge protected since so I should be good for that but
a UPS would take all the fun out of it
