This has to be the most boring LEGO set ever, other than you being able to spin
the wheel to release the hot coals and role your Obi-Wan figure in it to torture
him?........ The set itself is just s base plate, and for the price of 30 dollars,
this, compared to the star fighters that you can buy for the same, or similar
price is pretty lame.

And don't get me wrong, the rocky texture does look cool, but the fact that
it costs so much for so little, is pretty awful. You'll notice that a good
portion of the listings here on BL actually are missing the minifigures, because
the seller just wanted them.

I raise you this set as most boring and the only reason it was both Horrible
and Useful was to add Train rails/motors/boogies/bases/controller to your 9v
Collection. I was able to get 4 of these on close out for 50 bucks each in a
department store.

You may be mixing ugly and boring, my son and I have played with this bargain
train set for hours on end. It may be horrible to look at but it has a ton of
play features, more than most train sets even.

Big disagree, this was my one Lego train kit as a kid and I spent countless hours
with it. Nice parts pack for back then too.

Agreed, that is a pretty ugly set, but the play value is still pretty cool because
of the motors. But you are right, it's still pretty ugly.

   You'll notice that a good
portion of the listings here on BL actually are missing the minifigures, because
the seller just wanted them.

That is not uncommon for licensed sets, irrespective of the set or theme.

I have noticed that HP and Marvel sets tend to cost less per piece than SW -
I'm assuming the SW license is more expensive than others

It's very fitting for that show though

Enormously boring and highly unnecessary

anyway!

I came across that set on a store shelf recently, was wondering what the deal
with it was! I might pick a few up just for some easy to obtain parts.

If you can snag them at a meaningfully discounted price, considering the purported
Canadian retail price: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1404368

do it...

I don't always consider discount price for sets, particularly themed like
SW. I looked at the part out value for it on BrickLink, I'm in Australia,
pretty sure it was a full priced $79 set or thereabouts, part out value was over
$100, presumably because of the minifigs being overinflated. It would mean I
wouldn't pay more to get them, so definitely having that on my pickup list.

The other thing I occasionally like to do is get multiples of a set. Why have
one when I can have 2 or more? My buying habits are weird, if I like an
aspect of a set, I might get more of it!

Cheers ...

I don't even remember if I had any time to write one up!

I may have left it quite intentionally blank for one reason or another.

Sadly, it's not because I would want to troll anyone.

It is what is, that's all.

The most boring set I've ever come across is this:

4121 - it's listed in "Gear", I don't remember how to insert
the macro tag for "Gear" to show it.

Contains 3 parts!

Cheers ...

Why do I get the people who want to argue semantics?

It's useful to scoop up and store bricks, that means it's a functional
LEGO item, that one can buy.

Cheers ...

Because plastic storage tubs are not intended to be interesting. They are not
a set. By their nature they are boring.

Just use 'g', as in [ g=4121-GEAR1 ], but you need to give the complete
ID.  It’s only when the extension is “-1” that you can skip it
