Hi All,

This is a strange one ... I had a buyer (zero feedback) purchase a set, pay for
it in full via bank transfer, then request to cancel and refund due to "unseen
financial issues".
This was 9 days ago and I've sent them several (6) messages via Bricklink
requesting their bank transfer details (No Paypal or other money transfer type)
and I've received no reply.
I can't see how this can be a scam seeing as I have the funds sitting in
my bank account, it's over $300, they've provided no phone number, and
for record keeping purposes I'm not messaging/emailing them outside of Bricklink.
Is this a case of small-time money laundering, or something else?

Thanks,
Adam

???

Buyer said "unseen financial issues".
It can easily happen.

Don't harass with more stress and messages!

If you can't refund because you've not the details for, simply keep the
money safely and wait.

He'll contact you later on.

Be comprehensive and kind, it can be a hard time on their side

What information do you need more from the buyer, besides their bank account,
name and the amount, to make a banktransfer back?

This. But in general and for security reasons, when you receive a transfer you
don't get the originated bank account number.

Here no, not with BNP here anyway.
And you'd need user name, probably BIC/SWIFT and bank name/address.

For sure I wouldn't refund without some buyer consent/confirmation to do
it.

Because it can't be cancelled, if it's "lost" for any reason
it then becomes your problem

All I need to do is to click on the payment and return the (partial when for
instance I charged an extra stamp) payment.
I can see their banknumber, name and the amount that was paid to me.
So in our case it is very easy to do.

I can't.
Apparently it's already different in NL and FR.

So, imagine OP in Australia: they don't have SEPA or such.

A BSB and Account Number is required. These details are not disclosed when the
buyer is paying the seller.
