While looking at my own statistics for the other thread about neutral feedback
I noticed a few parts on my store page that I know for a fact I haven't handled.

Last week I uploaded two

Set No: 60337 Name: Express Passenger Train
*
60337-1 (Inv) Express Passenger Train
739 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2022
Sets: Train: RC Train
that I came by. I had full intention to
part them out but my 6 year old son saw them on the sorting table and his eyes
jumped out of his head. So I decided to let him have one and then hold of on
parting out the other until I can get some more.

So I did the trick that Brickwilbo mentioned about parting out -2 sets.

That appeared to have worked but all of the parts that are still in my store
from that set are listed as counterparts in the set inventory.

I just went and looked at the part out page and I don't see anything about
counterparts. Is this a glitch or am I completely blind?

Counterparts are not included in the part out system. Exactly what items are
you referring to?

Iiiiinteresting.

The original upload was through the most recent version of BrickStore. The parts
I'm referring to are

Part No: 38339c01 Name: Train Wheel RC, Holder with Pin Slots with 2 Black Train Wheel RC Train with Pins (38339 / 38340)
*
38339c01 (Inv) Train Wheel RC, Holder with Pin Slots with 2 Black Train Wheel RC Train with Pins (38339 / 38340)
Parts: Wheel {Black}
,

Part No: 24312c02 Name: Minifigure, Utensil Wheelchair with Trans-Bright Green Wheelchair Wheels and Bright Green Trolley Wheels (24312 / 24314pb02 / 2496)
*
24312c02 (Inv) Minifigure, Utensil Wheelchair with Trans-Bright Green Wheelchair Wheels and Bright Green Trolley Wheels (24312 / 24314pb02 / 2496)
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil {Red}
and

Part No: 4719c02 Name: Bicycle with Trans-Clear Wheels with Molded Black Hard Rubber Tires (4719 / 92851pb01)
*
4719c02 (Inv) Bicycle with Trans-Clear Wheels with Molded Black Hard Rubber Tires (4719 / 92851pb01)
Parts: Riding Cycle {Bright Light Orange}

When I went to back out the pieces I used the part out page here on Bricklink
because I can't enter a negative number in Brickstore.

I believe you have answered your own question!

BrickStore = counterparts
BrickLink = no counterparts

This may explain some janky inventory numbers.

Well, BrickLink does not have a system that parts out with Counterparts as they
are all duplicates in some way of the items in the Regular inventory. If you
are going to use another software method, then you have to be careful to add
only 1 or the other in the same way our Alternate system functions.

because I can't enter a negative number in Brickstore.

When importing a set inventory in Brickstore there is a checkbox for including
counterparts. If you are using it to part out sets you should make sure that
that box is unchecked. Unless of course you want to have those counterparts listed
in your store. But in that case you should make sure to manually remove the individual
parts that make up those counterparts.
