| I have one simple question regarding the topic written in the subject: If I'm
parting out a minifig whose head already comes assambled into the figs torso
from factory, when I pull them apart, does the torso and head count as used or
new?

New.
But why would you part out a sealed vintage set? They are usually worth more
sealed and complete than as parts (as often only the unique parts will sell).

| There would be lots of scenarios for parting out a vintage set, but here are
a couple:
- missing a bag
- missing a sticker sheet
- missing the box (can't list as new complete)
- unsure of a baseplate or other large piece's provenance (was it ever used?).
- sometimes the part out value is still very close or higher than the set value.
- Wanting to start getting a return on your money faster rather than sitting
on it for 6 months to a year waiting on that 1 customer who wants your old set.

The title says sealed vintage sets. So none of these apply.

Although often for vintage sets the common parts of the sets are very cheap as
they tend to be basic bricks that are still made today. The real valuable parts
are usually the minifigures and any unique parts that are printed or retired.
Open the set up, and only those parts sell (often just as slow as the set) and
the common parts won't. Whereas a sealed set guarantees all the parts are
new to the buyer and sells them in one go.

| I missed the word sealed in the title, but I think the last 2 are certainly valid.
In my experience as a seller, even the best priced new set can sit for years,
while a fairly priced fig and rare parts usually go in a few months.
6190 is a recent example of a set that I "parted out" because I found
all the bags sealed, but the baseplate and rock were loose in bulk. I may have
chosen to part it out if I found it sealed anyway.
There's a sealed one that's been for sale for 1 year at $400. I've
sold about 98% of the parts from the set since adding it 4 months ago. Current
6 month for sale average is about $300 + whatever the new baseplate and instructions
would list for (I sold the used plate for $40, but would expect a new one would
fetch $60 or even more). I sold about 1/2 the dollar value (many of the retired
parts) within 1 month of listing to several different buyers and reinvested in
more Lego. The remainder sold a few months later (including all the common parts
and remainder of the retired parts to a single buyer (likely trying to complete
this set and decided to go with as much original as was available). So the net
is, after 4 months I've sold about $300 from this set while the sealed set
remains available for you to buy.

If I recall correctly, you're allowed to disassemble minifigures that come
assembled and sell the parts as used. But as others have pointed out, for vintage
sets, you're probably better of selling the set sealed than parting it out.

You mean "sell the parts as new," I think
