Hi!

First time posting a question and I searched to make sure this hadn't been
asked before.

I have 9V lego train items that I would like to sell and am struggling about
the pros and cons of selling as the actual set number or as individual parts.

For example set 4531 Manual Points that contains the left and right rail switch
and two curved pieces (plus the yellow switch pieces). I could list it as set
or list it as the individual parts 2867 x2, 2861 x1, 2859 x1.

Another example is something I bought a long time ago, the 9V Train Accessory
Kit which is a set itself but is also made up of other sets (which also have
specific parts in the inventory). So the 9V Train Accessory Collection is made
up of the 2159 9V Train Starter Kit, the 10153 Electric Train Motor, and the
4548 Transformer and Speed Regulator.

People have wanted lists for both the sets and individual parts. In all cases
I am selling used sets/parts. What are your thoughts and the pros and cons of
set versus part listing?

Thanks!
Travis

In general and specifically for 4531, you will get more money, but it will take
longer to sell as a set.

I recommend looking at how many sets have sold vs what’s available for the set
and compare with the parts. Not too hard when it’s 6 items.
