I used to chase feedback, and begged (kindly) to remind people to post. In the
early days I had a 85% feedback response rate. Today, that rate has dropped
to

So, does it really matter? After you pass a certain score, does a buyer really
care if you gain 1,000 more positive feedback or whether you get 10 or 500 feedback
per month? Is it only the positive rate that matters?

What do you say, my big friends?

In my opinion, once you exceed a couple hundred, all you need are lots of generally
positive comments and no glaring negatives.

I sorta gave up, as long as the feedback you do receive is positive, I don’t
think it matters ones you hit triple digits.

So long as you get some every so often. It looks a bit suspicious if a store
gets none for years then opens up again.

Although for some buyers I don't think it matters at all, given how bad the
percentage rate is for some sellers but they still get sales.

7000 feedbacks on 8000 orders is fantastic; but I don't care about the aggregated
score, I care about any of your negatives, and I actually look at total orders
once in the store looking around. I want people that know how to process orders
in volume and how good their product is when buying.

Agreed.

Feedback was important when discovering buying on line.

Nowadays, and Amazon being the model, plus the various laws protecting buyers:
you order, you receive.

Who the cares for feedback?

I'd say, yes 10 or 100 is certainly important, and maybe 1000 could be a
goal, but then after... Really that doesn't change anything for the buyers.

Note: 49500+ is important, because it's close to 50K

I'm trying to get feedback for the first time (so that I can sell) that does

It does matter, yes.
To get it simply place a tiny order at any - good, like mine - place.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one noticing this trend. Feedback numbers
have dropped off dramatically for me in the last couple years. People don't
even mark the orders as "Received" or "Completed" in most cases.

I have never chased feedback as you mention. But I did move away from waiting
for someone else to post it first. I'm happy to go first so long as you
change the order status to Received or Completed. And for Zero feedback Buyers,
I post as soon as their payment is made, in order to help out the newcomers or
those looking to sell on the site.

As silly as it may sound, feedback is important to me. I enjoy knowing that
someone is happy with the product and service provided. And it helps motivate
me to continue working hard and satisfying the community. I've been inching
towards the 5k milestone but at a snail's pace.

I pretty much feel the same on everything you said. For me, I want to get to
2500 feedback so I can finally ditch the purple brick.

The two neutrals I received are a major bummer because i don't think I could
have done anything differently to prevent them, but i did state my case.

For buying, neutrals or negatives hinting at nefarious deeds are a huge warning,
as are cumulative negative totals over 1%.

I love reading the feedback comments I get, especially when buyers mention how
quickly they received their order, or how well packaged it was, or how the experience
was fantastic overall.

But I don't chase it. I leave feedback for buyers the second I drop off
their package at the post office cause to me, they gain a positive the second
they place an order in my store as the responsibility is then 100% me to make
sure their experience is top notch.

Everything in my store is also 100% instant checkout so I do not have day delays
in invoicing or waiting for payment, etc... which really makes things flow well.

I'd say total transactions would be more helpful. If you see a seller who
has few positive, but a dozen negative, you'd question that. Now, maybe they
have done a thousand transactions, but only received a hundred positives, you'd
be able to see they had potentially more good transactions versus the 12 bad.
Overall number of transactions, and only those where they were the Seller. Otherwise,
you'd be able to buy your way off the naughty list.

As a new Buyer on BrickLink, I look at feedback and like to read what others
have to say. I always leave feedback on any transactions. Rarely, have I had
issues with any websites; however, I do wonder why some Sellers don't leave
feedback; especially, if I've taken the time to give them a positive review.
My biggest gripe will always be ignored messages when tracking numbers don't
indicate an item has shipped or remains in a pre-shipment status. When I receive
the purchase, I still will leave feedback, but it will be more generic. Warren

At a point it really doesn’t matter, unless every other feedback is negative
or neutral, we leave it and then file. For us over 8000, I think we have established
our mark here and if you leave it, ok, if not ok.

What really drives away buyers (at least those who bother to check feedback)
is a consistent pattern of neutral or negative feedback around certain issues
(e.g., part quality or shipping times).

Personally, I would never consider buying from a seller with less than 50,000
positive feedbacks.
