Get 6 to 10 packagings MAX, always the same ones, standard and common ones that
you can buy almost any place. Do not try to get the best price for some packaging
which will be unique.
Measure their size, internal dimension, weight, get approx the extra weight of
packing materials you'd use (chips, bubbles, paper...)
When you've those data, it's "easy" to see where this or that
order fits, and you've got the total weight, size, and thus = boom, shipping
price, no error.
DO NOT use random 'recycled' boxes - I mean, later on it'll be fine
when you'll be used to ship - but until then, stick to your standards packaging
ONLY.
HTH?

I found lots of online help via my old friend Google when I first started, but
I'll throw in my $.02. Some of this will obviously depend on what type of
investment you are looking to make/get back in return. Scale and printer with
a 250 pack of labels might have been $200 or so, I know there are cheaper
and more expensive options but everything I bought almost two years ago all function
like new.
I bought a postal scale and label printer, so I do all of my shipping from home
using a third party for USPS which really streamlined the whole process for me
and keeps me from waiting in line at the USPS. I purchase packaging in bulk such
as bubble mailers, boxes, tape, etc. which saves a ton as well and I have an
average price of what each order costs me to ship without adding shipping costs.
Then I set up weight tiers and pricing based on them for instant checkout and
added my costs to that number, and BOOM! Charge what it costs YOU and
you will be in the black and not in the red. Keep an eye on it at first and adjust
as necessary (if necessary).
Best of luck!

| I see $6.50 for a flat rate padded mailer in your store for a few small parts.
I'm guessing you are using the "API" or you started with another
old shared shipping methods. If you are, don't do that.
Commercial rate for the Flat Rate Padded is currently listed at $8.80 - https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm#_c078

You mention your problem with colors twice in your terms. You really don't
get to say you have problems with colors and have the attitude of "I may
get it wrong oh well haha". If you are going to sell used parts you need
to know your vintage/modern colors.
Make a color chart.

You may want to redefine your shipping terms a bit...
"After the shipping has been made, the seller is no longer responsible for
damage that may be caused to the product(s) during the shipmnet-- unless
the buyer puchases-- insurance at the checkoiut--."
First, you have several typos in this statement. Look for the angry faces
Second, the seller is responsible for the shipment until said shipment is delivered.
Third, insurance is for the seller's protection, not the buyers. If a claim
has to be made due to a damaged/missing package, the seller has to make the claim
to get reparations from the shipping company.
Congrats on your new store and good luck!
