This set

Set No: 6775 Name: Alpha Team Bomb Squad
*
6775-1 (Inv) Alpha Team Bomb Squad
177 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2001
Sets: Alpha Team
has a discrepancy for the alternate version. The part

Part No: 3673 Name: Technic, Pin without Friction Ridges
*
3673 Technic, Pin without Friction Ridges
Parts: Technic, Pin {Light Gray}
is shown with
the match ID 99 but in the alternate section, it has no match.
Does this mean it is not found in the alternate version?
And if so can the piece be shown in the alternate section with quantity 0 and
a note saying this piece is omitted in the alternate version please?

Secondly, the instruction entry should also show 2 versions of this set. If I
wanted to buy instructions for this set, currently I would have no way of knowing
which version of the instructions I would get other than reaching out to the
store.
I feel that sets with 2 or more versions should have a requirement for stores
to state which version of the instructions they are selling to make it easier
for the buyer.

Thoughts?

That is correct.

   And if so can the piece be shown in the alternate section with quantity 0 and

That is not how we use match ID 99. You can think of everything that uses match
ID 99 in the Alternate Items section as a complete set of replacement parts for
everything that uses match ID 99 in the Regular Items section. This is how it
is set up in all set inventories that have been redesigned, and we do not want
to ever add any entries to any set inventories that have a quantity of zero.

  Secondly, the instruction entry should also show 2 versions of this set. If I
wanted to buy instructions for this set, currently I would have no way of knowing
which version of the instructions I would get other than reaching out to the
store.

We wish we could do this, but each set can only have one instructions entry according
to how the site is programmed. Getting this reprogrammed in another way is on
a long-term wish list of ours, but I do not likely see this ever happening. There
are a number of sets that would benefit from this, but the vast majority of sets
(99%+) do not need this. Therefore, it really is a very low priority compared
to everything else that is needed on the site.

Sellers can only add a note to their instructions entry if they already know
that there are two versions of a set that was redesigned. Unfortunately, we really
do not have a good way of showing this easily on catalog pages, but we do maintain
a list of them which is rather small:

For now, if you really need a certain version of a sets instructions, it is best
to ask the seller beforehand which version they have.

Cheers,
Randy
