| I was dropping a package off at the local UPS the other day and the clerk there
said that I was missing the customs form on the outside of my parcel. I assumed
that the clerk was mistaken, because the customs info is recorded digitally when
I buy my shipping label online.
To the best of my knowledge, anything under $2,500 is considered an informal
entry into the USA and only requires a copy of the invoice on the outside of
the box.
However, I do not profess to be an expert on exports and was wondering if any
other Canadian sellers can help clarify this matter for me. (for the record
I've never had any issues, but better safe than sorry).

From what I’ve shipped to the states anything over like $500 CAD (not exactly
but the general price range) requires a commercial invoice
