How about we share some of our positive experiences we've encountered on
this site ... to attest one more time that there is good in men ... No, I'm
not preaching anything, just for once talking about the good in here. I'll
go first.

It was about 15 years ago, I just got started with Bricklink, and I wanted few
red bent lift-arm parts to build the iconic 8448 as it was a very hard set to
get. The only person who had them had a minimum buy of $40.00. This was a bit
high for me so I wrote him and asked if he could lower the minimum for me as
I only needed few parts.

He did not reply, but few days later I received a package with 30+ of such parts
(his entire stock) with a nice hand written note inside, something along the
lines of: "Enjoy, I hope they're of more use to you than me"...all
of this free of charge. Yessss, there is good out there, in the most unbelievable
of places.

Ok, your turn, share a nice story.

My very first sale was for parts just under $1.00. My buyer paid me $5.00 and
wrote a nice note welcoming me to bricklink. He wished me good luck in "slinging"
brick on bricklink. Now I use that phrase as my store motto.

Ok, your turn, share a nice story.

Trying to think of all the nice things that happened to me over the years…
I have had some nice bricks sent to me for free

Recently a buyer/collector from another country asked me if I could buy something
for him as the seller did not ship to his country.
I said sure, what is it?
It was a small special item, only one at the time on BL.

I said, hold on, let me have a look.
Ran to my unsorted/to upload parts and yes, I had one, new in plastic.

So I asked him to send me his address and send it to him for free, he is a nice
and kind BLinker too

I have had many times sellers lower their minimum for me to buy a single brick.
I have good contact with many kind sellers on here, made quite a few friends
over the years.
Some whom I have never met and a few I did meet and loads I one day will meet

I've had lots of good experiences as both buyer and seller. I leave feedback
each time I do.

Thanks for the post.

My very first order on BrickLink was an international order for about $700 for
several early Technic sets, and I'm sure the seller wondered if it was a
scam. But he sent the order, perfectly packed, and even gave me free shipping.
I'll never forget it.

Firstly the most generous and heart warming of things that has happened here,
was the offer to send me money when I’ve been unable to buy some items I wanted
due to lack of funds, they didn’t want the money back.

This happened twice from a very kind hearted Canadian, I didn’t take up the offers
but was very touched by these gestures, thank you again, they know who they were.

Thank you too to those who helped my wife buy, at a good price, bricks for a
major Birthday of mine, guys from The Netherlands and considered as close friends,
some of the bricks were free.

I’ve also had a gift whilst ill, from France, just before being admitted as an
emergency to hospital for a very serious and major operation, thank you.

Thank you to others who’ve been very kind.

Lovely people the world over.

Stuart

Ok, your turn, share a nice story.

As a buyer, I have had many stores give me great customer service throughout
the years including sending me parts that were missing, broken, or wrong.
Just recently, I bought a rare piece from a store. When the order arrived, to
my dismay, it was the wrong piece. I contacted the store, and they told me they
would source the item from another store and have them send it on to me. That
piece finally showed up and again, it was the wrong piece. I contacted the store
and thanked them for all they had done to help me and left good feedback for
them.
Not only did that store owner try to source the piece for me but they refunded
me the price of the piece and all of the shipping I had paid for my original
order!

Part x264 seems to be a rather hard item for stores to list correctly.

Awesome idea dude,

I haven’t been here for as long as da others but I’ve had my fair share of awesome
experiences.

I was just chilling scrolling through old forum posts and catalog references
and I noticed I had a message just completely out of the blue, it was someone
that messaged me and said, yo I like your name (The Cute Giraffe) has a nice
ring to it, keep up your effort on the forums, hope you have a good day.

I just thought it was so nice for someone to just say that,

Well ... I've been tempted to comment on your avatar but refrained until
now. What I do not understand is ... giraffes are endemic to Africa ...What's
a cute one doing in Australia?

Well ... I've been tempted to comment on your avatar but refrained until
now. What I do not understand is ... giraffes are endemic to Africa ...What's
a cute one doing in Australia?

And for me, or I didn't get its meaning, but cute is for small creatures
or things...

So... a Cute FREAKING HUGE LIKE 2 STORIES HIGH Giraffe?

Hmm, actually, as in the Wiktionary, “mignon” (in English) is defined as “small
and cute,” that would mean that “cute” doesn’t imply “small.”

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mignon

Well, a baby elephant is cute… even if it’s hundreds of thousands times bigger
than an (not cute) adult spider.

Giraffes' North American cousins are the deer-sized Pronghorn, which outcompeted
the North American cheetah. Previously in Australia, their apex predator, before
people entered the server, was the marsupial lion, Thylacoleo, which fed on Aussie
herbivores (massive kangaroos). But apparently all the animals in Australia accelerate
by hopping, including Thylacoleo's lil bro, the Thylacine. So this big (marsupial)
cat chose to ambush its bounding bounty, from trees, like a jaguar. And possibly
formed a tribal memory in aborigines that created the legend of the DROP BEAR.

Now that there's no more killer koalas in Australia (we hope), giraffes are
only a swim (or a reported higher crime rate) away from decently nice real estate.

Don't know about 2 stories, maybe as high as 2k (on a vertical monitor)?

About the height of a bunny rabbit (on landscape)

Just happened over the last couple of days. A customer contacted us saying an
astronaut minifigure was missing from their order. We couldn't find it here.
Was about to refund them when a second customer contacted us saying they got
an astronaut in their order they didn't purchase. Somehow the fig decided
to stowaway in the wrong order. Both people were extremely helpful and patient.
The second customer was more than willing to send the figure directly to the
first, for which we paid for the shipping cost.

All in all, what rightfully could've been a messy and costly mistake on our
side was quickly resolved due to the great character and patience of both customers.

And then something that has happened several times over the years is the above-and-beyond
honesty of some customers. For every 50 quantity of a used lot that someone purchases,
we include an extra of that piece incase a damaged or f'lego gets by us.
So if someone orders 100 red studs, they'll get 102. And we'll get those
great customers that contact us saying they got an extra pin or two and wanting
to know how they can pay for them. Of course we tell them they're theirs
to keep, but it's always good to know that most customers out there still
have honesty.
