| Hello,
Should this have a new catalog entry or an alternate number?
I found this one molded 2821 in set
It's compared here with 59121.
Thanks!

This has been pending for a few weeks, but we have not yet reached a consensus
on whether this should get a new entry.
What would be your opinion?

Seller Me says: No more variants! (But, would a buyer who received both of these
in one lot get confused and think one was wrong?)
Collector Me says: Yes, you can see the difference so it's different! (But,
now I have to deal with a new pattern series for stickered counterparts and printed
variants... ugh.)
I am going with Seller Me on this one. The visual differences are internal. I
think an alternate number with a good comparison photo would be sufficient.
Thanks!

Do the cross supports below change how this part can be attached to studs in
different ways?
Or does the bottom is lower and something can be put inside different?

Not that I can tell but I am not a very creative builder.

Yes, potentially. Slightly.
I put a 1x1 Brick on its side in each one. The newer variant is on the right
side in this image.

That is the key thing because if there are minimal differences in appearance
and the functional use of the part is no different between them then I think
we should always put them in the same entry with a note and image of both variants
so that a buyer can ask should they require a specific variant or all of the
same as most buyers wouldn't care which they receive and I think the catalog
needs to cater for and work as efficiently as possible for the many rather than
the few!
However I think the same thing for all these types of variants including minifigure
heads with different stud types!

Personally, I think they are different enough and visibly easy enough to separate
to have separate entries. Things like swords with thin and thick cross guards
but no functional difference get their own entries, so where these parts are
visibly different then separate them. If have have a load of these in a row in
a build, I want them all appear to be the same. If both types are mixed up in
one entry, you don't know what you are buying.

Here's our decision:
It would be great we could use your comparison image for both entries.

Sure thing! I cleaned it up and added the reference numbers.
Thank you,
