Can anyone recommend gloves I could use while building to protect my fingers?

I can't finish a single bag without needing to stop due to fingers getting
chewed up by the LEGO. So I've been fumbling along using garden gloves.
Does anyone know of gloves that would be better? Or perhaps you have a better
solution?

I'm facing a 6,020 piece set I bought to build during Christmas vacation.

Thanks!

May I ask how is it hurting your fingers? I build a ton of Lego and have never
had his issue, maybe it's just me though. Some surgical gloves may work,
as they won't constrict your movement, but provide a little bit of protection.
That's what i would try, plus no fingerprints on the lego either.

Thanks, Noah

Lots of tiny cuts & scrapes. I'm an old person with paper skin who is, alas,
addicted to LEGO. LOL.

That makes a lot of sense, i was guessing that was the issue. I would definitely
try the surgical gloves, they may work for you.

Try some nitrile gloves. You can buy a large box of them for very little. They
have very good puncture resistance and are quite strong compared to latex gloves.

Cheers,
Randy

Maybe something like the finger sleeves some gamers use? I've not tried them
but I'm thinking of it, I don't have thin skin on my fingers (yet) but
I have occasionally felt some pain in my fingertips while building.

Perhaps off topic to you, but I remember a very heated discussion from 5-10 years
ago (I'm a bit older myself so I don't have a perfect memory timeline...)
in which a seller asked about opinions how to handle (sorting/packing) orders
for his shop. He confided that he always used gloves to avoid fingerprints when
packing orders.

He was completely laughed at his question. Still feel sorry for him about how
the forum reacted.

I sometimes use linen gloves when I pack glass items / windscreens or black bricks.

Hmm, I don’t remember it as being “heated” or that the OP was “completely laughed
at.”

I mean, yes, some laughed at him (humans…), but the main reaction was more surprise
(“uh? never crossed my mind”) or doubt (“is it really useful?”), and there were
a few who agreed.

Thanks!

I have very sensitive fingers and that's the main reason I would never buy
the LEGO mosaic sets (like the World Map etc.) because I would be in pain for
days.

At the same time: when you put on gloves it will probably reduce the joy of 'clicking
the bricks together'.

I feel your pain.

Thin cotton gloves used for handling coin collections. Thick enough to protect
and thin enough to provide good tactile feedback.

Thank you. You've all given me useful ideas to look into!

I like the idea of less clumsy cotton gloves so my hands don't get sweaty.
And I had forgotten all about finger cots since I hadn't seen any in the
office for decades. I had no idea gamers use them these days. Interesting.

A solution to the problem will change my LEGO life.

Maybe a solution is to get the room you are building in at the correct temperature.
When I build in a room that is to cold my hands and fingers got brittle and paralyzed.
They crack like paper. But when room temperature is correct nothing happens
and I can enjoy building.

Happy building your hogwards castle!

When I built 71043, I got some rubber thimbles. I think it helped.
