I'm hoping a member or Administrator will see this and be able to provide
some guidance.

System logged me off and I'm unable to log back in. I believe the issue is
that I had a six digit password but I see now that an eight digit password is
required.

It doesn't like my password now. I get the "ID or Password Mismatch!"

I've tried to do a password reset but an email does not get sent to make
this happen.

My user name is "jeffhau" (I created this new account to be able to post here).
My store name is THEREISNOSPOON.

I'm really at a loss here as I've sent messages to Help Desk with no
response. I've tried everything I can think of to get back in my account
but no success.

I'm guessing now that I have unfulfilled orders in my store not yet invoiced
so that's not good. BrickLink is a needed source of income for me as well
so obviously it's not good in that regard.

Hopefully someone out there can provide information that can remedy this problem.

I had this issue last week; try closing out your browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox,
Edge, etc.), then and restart it (make sure it clears the cookies)... you'll
have to log back in, but it should work; at least that worked for me when I had
the same issue a few times last week...

I've done all of this already multiple times. I had thought that would fix
it as well but no luck. I still think it had something to do with the change
from a minimum 6 digit password to now an 8 digit minimum but don't know.
Quite a dilema.

You know - I had thought of that as well. Early on in this situation, I tried
logging in from my wife's computer - thinking maybe it was something on my
computer that was the problem. Still no luck though. Got the same "ID or Password
Mismatch!" message.

i don't want to say it but is it possible your account was hacked and someone
changed the password and email?

However - what I did was to go back to my email inbox to see what the last email
message I received from BrickLink team was.

It was that one from August to Sellers about the counterfeit minis.

At the bottom of that email are the links:

"Want to change how you receive these emails?
You can update your preferences or unsubscribe from this list."

So I clicked the "update your preferences" link and I did receive an email along
with the form to change my email and first and last name.

The email shown (while partially ***'d out) is my correct email.

Thus - it would certainly appear that if hacked my email wasn't changed.
Thus - I should still be able to get a password reset email.

Again - it's all just very confusing and I just can't figure it out.

but I've been wathcing that for two days non-stop and there's ceratinly
been no hacking attempt there.

I just keep going back to my 6 digit password whereas now it is an 8 digit minimum.
It's the only thing that makes sense at all.

Granted it would be so easy to just reset it but I can't get the email sent.

I really need a tech administrator to see this thread and hopefully offer some
insight.

I remember 11 or 12 years ago someone did a major hack and took over admin's
account and merged a bunch of accounts into one big banned account.

I suppose it is possible that the form uses the email address that it was sent
to rather than the email address actually associated with your BrickLink account.

Have you received any order notification emails recently? If not, then the problem
may lie with your email client rather than BrickLink.

You may want to preemptively buy your entire store to prevent other buyers from
buying stuff until you can get this sorted out.

was just cluttering up my email box so won't be getting those.

You know - that idea to buy my entire store is an excellent one though. I've
got 10's of thousands of lots so hopefully I can find an easy way to do it.

On second thought, you may be better off requesting a profile merge:

Merge your old profile into your new one, then change your username back to the
old one.

That would be quite a serious security flaw if BL allowed that. You could open
a new account with an existing seller name and address, request a merge then
take control over their account.

I thought they merge newer accounts to older ones, not the other way around.

We are hoping that the profile merge request would appear higher on their list
to get addressed faster

As weird as that seems, it seems like a good idea. I've had this issue before
but only for a few hours when bricklink was having 404 erros, I cant think of
anything else that it could be, all the things like cookie resetting and changing
browser have already been put forward, sorry I cant help but maybe wait a few
days.

I often have a similar issue where the website refuses to let me in. I discovered
that turning on Opera's built in VPN lets me log in instantly then i can
turn it off and the problem goes away for a few days.
Couldn't say what causes it but that seems to work for me, assuming our problems
are the same.

The VPN changes your IP and therefore invalidates the cookies and whatever the
site had memorized that prevents you from logging in.
The others “wait 5 min” to achieve the same result.
So I’m not sure it will work here.

But anything may be worth a try….

Hello and Thank You for getting to my ticket ASAP.

Oddly - I was somehow able to get back in on my cell phone (not even sure how
it happened as I rarely even use it for BL) but I am still locked out on my desktop.

I was sucessfully able to close my store and deal with the exisiting orders that
had accumulated.

I am still at a loss for how I was signed out in the first place and why I cannot
get back in and of course why I can't receive a Password reset email.

All indications to me are that this is not a hack but rather just a techincal
issue.
