Hi. I am parting out a set which can contain both Light bluish gray or Light
gray pieces, but I am unfamiliar with Light Gray pieces. Is there an easy way
to distinguish the two colours?

You need to directly compare them to a part that you know is Light Gray. If you
can't see the difference, find another light source. Light Gray is distinctly
more yellowish under the correct light.

As long as the light bluish gray part to which you're comparing it isn't
itself yellowed....

The problem is, I have some old used light gray bricks, which looks much different,
but they are yellowed on one side, so I don't think it is a good reference.
If I compare it to light bluish gray bricks, my parted out bricks looks a bit
different, but that could just be color variation?

There is a wide range of shades of Light Gray and a wide range of Light Bluish
Gray. If you aren't super confident, I wouldn't list them.
What set are you parting out? Knowing the year might help us help you.

Thanks for your help
I am parting out 9649, so there are a lot of gray bricks. I am not super confident,
but looking at the reference image, it seems like they are light bluish gray

Looks like this set was available both before and after the color change. It
could very well contain both grays. Photos, maybe?

Very bad lighting.
Hmm, sun is setting for you now, so you can’t use its light. Try to use white
light (if you know the ‘temperature’ of your lightbulbs, aim for 5000K).
An LED torchlight is generally white enough (but not very strong).
Also, put other colours to help your camera (pure white for balance, other colours
to prevent your camera thinking it’s too luminous).

A lot of these look like LBG to me. How about the Dark Grays? Did you get a Green
brick separator?

To tell the difference between lg and lbg, I've tried leds, halogens, and
old light bulbs, but the only thing that works well is bright daylight. In the
sun I can usually tell instantly which it is, under artificial light it's
almost impossible.
